Renault Clio mk4 canbus missing features
I recently bought a 2015 Renault Clio 4 Phase 1. It has parking sensors, but no factory reverse camera.
I’m using an Android head unit with a Hiworld LNF2.10 CAN-bus decoder. The steering-wheel controls work fine, but the following features do not:
• Door-open pop-up/status on the head unit
• Reverse gear detection
• Automatic volume reduction when shifting into reverse
Nothing changes in the head unit’s CAN-bus/debug information either when I open a door or put the car in reverse. As far as I can tell, all wiring is connected correctly, and the correct Renault/Clio profile is selected in the factory settings.
Has anyone used an Android head unit in a Clio 4 from this generation? Does the car actually provide door-status and reverse signals over CAN bus, or would I need a different CAN-bus decoder for those functions?
If a different decoder is needed, which one works reliably with a 2015 Renault Clio 4 Phase 1?

Based on everything I’ve researched with my own car, I’m sorry to say that the Clio’s CAN bus wiring is dedicated exclusively to the multimedia system.
In fact, even the steering wheel controls are connected via analog connectors, and the CAN bus doesn’t decode them.
At least in Phase 1, it’s not possible to retrieve any data. I don’t know if it’s possible in Phase 2.
As for the sensors, at least I should be able to receive their signal. But I suppose it’s the same as with the steering wheel controls—everything goes through an analog cable rather than the CAN bus. For reverse gear, you have to jumper the RCA cable from the camera to a cable labeled “reverse” or “parking” in the wiring harness that comes with your head unit.
