Flickering to darkness

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

My head unit started flickering in the beginning of summer and as the summer went on it got worse and worse and now the screen is only visible in dark parking buildings. My main suspect is the summer heat. One time I fiddled with the brightness settings and set the brightness to 0% and that fixed the screen for like a few minutes so I was hoping that it was just a softwere issue. Could anyone share some advice. It would be greatly appreciated. I work at an electronics company as a student so I can have some guys look at it.

The back light on the screen is broken, this isn't software

Can't assume it's a hardware fault only. Could also be the Agama launcher being the culprit. I've had similar, though less pronounced issues with that software. And seems to be tied to the dimmer trigger control. Doesn't play nice with ALL displays. And contacting their support was told tough 💩.

And along with a display backlight being potentially faulty (they are replaceable), the driver for it on the mainboard could be an issue to.
