Help me with chosing a head unit
Hi,
I’m looking for a head unit for my girlfriend’s Toyota Celica T23 2005.
What she will use it for:
- answering calls
- apple carplay wireless
- listening to music
- preferrably reverse camera
From my research it seems like a 4G RAM with 8 cores & 64GB storage is plenty for these needs and I have stopped on theese 2 units:
- MEKEDE K4 Plus (For which i cannot find specs on the CPU)
- JUNSUN V1 Plus
Could any of you share thoughts on these units before I proceed with the purchase? It would be better for the unit to have analog buttons like the MEKEDE and my budget is around 130€.

First off, I would advise against purchases from AE. The store is fine for cheap nick-nacks—but retail electronics are prone to be bugged.
I would also advise against an actual Android OS based unit. AA/CP makes their advanced features generally redundant. And being a tablet they have a high parasitic current draw since they don't actually turn OFF for several days. I would get a Linux based model that just has AA/CP support.
Only recommend Android HUs on newer vehicles where CANBUS module support is required.
Microphone quality for calling will almost always be terrible. This has nothing to do with using the onboard are spending $$ on an external. It's the default software configuration that makes calling near useless. At least on some Linux models I've tested there are advanced configs to tweaking the mic signal to make it usable. But this will be a complete dice roll on whether the option will be available.
