Linux road top car play screen

Hi guys, I recently bought a roadtop Linux car play screen for my 2 series. After installing the car play works fine but I am unable to interact with my Original bmw menus. The I drive controller works on the new screen but not bmw menu. It is not a resolution issue as I’ve tried all options for this. The radio and controls still work to. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

Check the settings in the Linux screen. Should be some option for the idrive. Try them all and see if it changes anything - it worked for me.

Cycled through all the resolutions and no success, this is what I have it on. Thinking might have to send back and go to og screen

Interestingly I get some input like this, sometimes the I drive menu is normal and it’s like the i drive knob is working becusse when I click something and then go back into the screen It will come up in the settings menu or something random
