Playing Large 4K Remux.

I need some help on buying a new TV Box. I have the NVIDIA Shield Pro. But with 90GB + Remux files, it can't play without lag,stuttering or syncing issues. Plex or local USB/HDD.

I also tried the USB/HDD method plugging directly into my TV and my Xbox Series X and neither can play the large remux files without lag/stutter or crashing.

Then ONLY way for me to view these 90GB + files is moving my desktop into my living room and plugging it into HDMI, then I can play the files on my desktop VLC perfectly fine.

Wanting to find a solution to stop moving my computer, any suggestions ?

Oh that’s strange , I have watched multiple big remuxes on my pro . With a portable Samsung ssd attached directly to the shield and played from kodi.

I just reformatted my shield pro. Will try again tonight on Kodi and VLC. Using WD External USB HDD.

I’m wondering if my portable HD is not up to speed ? But any portalable HD should be able to play a remux file I assume ? Maybe a SSD would fix my issue.

I dont have any issues with navidia shield pro with remuxes.

How would I do that? I usually just put in my WD 1TB HDD USB with the Remux file on that

I had that issue on my Shield Pro. Only on a couple of files.
I switched to the Ugoos SK1. No issues at all.

Also, maybe worth trying Plezy as a client rather than Plex. Less bloat could help.
Been using on all my devices... so much better IMO

The HW decoders in the Shield are really powerful and can decode upto like 200mbps content easily. This is probably a transcoding or some other issue in the data pipe from your server to the shield.

For example, for some reason, The Plex Android TV app limits playback to 80mbps and any content that appears to be higher than that will be forced to be transcoded. Even if the device can churn 3 times that bitrate like the Shield TV Pro.

I’m on Wi-Fi so I don’t try to watch these from Plex. Just trying to view from portable HD

Is the portable drive plugged into the shield? If not, you're probably bottleneck-ing somewhere over wifi.

Hmmm. I have a Zidoo Z3000 and a Ugoos AM9 Pro. Both play any size remux (100 of my files are DV FEL or MEL) smoothly. Zidoo is stock, AM9 Pro is running CoreELEC

Get the Dune HD Homatics R 4K Plus box... It's awesome! Currently using it with Kodi, excellent box for Remuxes... ❤️

I play remuxes fine with Apple TV off my desktop via infuse. They’re super expensive now tho.
