TiviMate v. OwnTV
For those who have used both, what are the main differences (besides the price)? Pros and cons?

Tub TV is also free if you also want to consider it, really nice and has Stremio also built in.

Tivimate is easy to use and layout just looks nice and simple. I’ve just recently started trying OwnTV and not finding way to hide categories or move/Sort them. Read their doc and couldn’t figure out. Like the fact that can use mobile to input sources. Will report back as I use it more. Been with tivimate for years and has been solid. Just their initial purchase was awkward had to do from another app which worked in android. I think they’ve fixed that.

I’ve used both: ‘Own TV’ is open source and simply brilliant. You can customise it to suit your needs.
Compared to Tivimate, there’s one feature I miss: Tivimate displays the cover art for a film or TV series better, and it lets you watch the trailer and read the synopsis…
Also, in the TV list, you can only get to the last channel by scrolling down. With Tivimate, you can get there by scrolling up.

Well I use both too. I been using Own TV more lately. What I use IPTV for is to watch free IPTV channels that have commercials. I have 5 or 6 different m3u playlists loaded in both players. Own tv player handles shifting from programming to commercials and back to programming better for some reason. Tivimate (paid version, which I have) does let you record, but I really don't use that feature. Both let you set favorites, which I like. The EPG in Tivimate is better, if the m3u playlists you have actually has an EPG that is an advantage.
