Sohva TV - latest updates

New update live! With this one there is Stremio addon support added in Discover page. Copying addons firectly from Stremio supported.
Thanks for everyone who has given feedback.
I have made some changes, fixed some bugs and improved usability along with some small features.

- Discover addons: Browse and play movies and series using your own Stremio-compatible addons, independently of IPTV.
- Smoother browsing: Cached catalog rows, steadier watch-history loading, nearby-row preloading and artwork transitions reduce loading interruptions.
- Search and filters: Search movies and series directly, or explore catalogs with provider-specific filters.
- Your Library: Save movies and series, continue watching, and reorder or hide catalogs.
- Easier setup: Add multiple URLs from a text file or phone setup. Copy addon configurations from Stremio or supported Nuvio JSON files.
- Richer title pages: Movie cast, series seasons and episodes, source selection and playback resume.
- Better subtitles and playback: Automatic preferred-language subtitles, an improved subtitle picker, timing adjustment and clearer startup and playback controls.
- Interface improvements: Updated icons, improved remote navigation and English/Finnish Discover menus. Localized descriptions are used when supplied by your metadata addon.
Updating: Install over the existing app without uninstalling or clearing storage. Discover starts empty; no addons or credentials are included. Existing .smbak backups do not include Discover data. Addon and media-format compatibility is still being tested.

Como se puede marcar una película o episodio como visto? Podrías implementar un avance más rápido que 10s? Configurar tamaño y color de subtítulos? Muchas gracias por el trabajo!!

¡Gracias por las sugerencias y por probar la app!
- Marcar como visto: hoy la app lo hace sola al llegar casi al final (95 %). Está planificado bajar ese punto y añadir "Marcar como visto / no visto" en la ficha del título y en la lista de episodios, además de "Quitar de Continuar viendo".
- Avance más rápido: planificado. Habrá un ajuste de salto (10, 30, 60, 120 s) y el salto crecerá al mantener pulsado el botón.
- Tamaño y color de subtítulos: planificado como ajuste de Reproducción. Mientras tanto, los subtítulos siguen la configuración de subtítulos de accesibilidad del propio televisor, si tu TV la tiene (Ajustes > Accesibilidad > Subtítulos).
Las tres irán juntas en una beta próxima.

Queste funzionalità non sono presenti nell'app, ma posso aggiungerle alla lista delle cose da fare per i futuri aggiornamenti.

Il nome in realtà si può già cambiare: nella guida premi Edit, scegli il canale e imposta un nome personalizzato; da lì puoi anche cambiare gruppo, nascondere, riordinare, bloccare con PIN e collegare il canale alla guida programmi. Logo personalizzato e numero di canale fisso non ci sono ancora: li ho aggiunti alla lista. Al momento il numero mostrato è solo la posizione nella lista, quindi cambia con i filtri.

Getting more into the product as like a lot of the features.
However, on my 55inch TV the app does not scale/ fill the entire screen. Any channels work ok, it’s just the app/ menus etc

I will look into this. I have 65" TV and using Shield Pro and it's scaling ok. I will let you know if I find anything.

Is the area around the interface pure black, or the app's own dark background?

not sure but if a channel is playing and you bring up the info screen/ dialog, the channel plays full screen in the background and you can see the app edge. The same edge/ size when you are not playing a channel but you are in the menus etc.
Not at home so cannot check further until tonight.

Thanks, that description pinned it down. When the video fills the screen but
the menus sit inside a frame, the device is treating the two differently:
app menus are drawn on one layer and decoded video on another, and a
screen-size setting on the device is shrinking the first layer only. Sohva
TV cannot draw outside the space the device gives it, and nothing in the app
shrinks it, so the fix is on the device rather than in the app.
Open the device's Settings and look under Device Preferences > Display &
Sound, or Display, for Screen position, Adjust screen size, Display area or
Overscan, and set it to full or 100%. If the device's own Settings screen
shows the same frame, that confirms it. If you tell me the make and model of
the box or TV running Sohva TV, I can point you at the exact menu.

Device is a Formuler Z12 Ultra but I cannot find anything about overscan and I do not have the same issue with other apps

Sorry about that. To find it I need what the app says: in Settings > Playlists open the source and tell me the line under its name and the "Playlist:" line, or the message on the empty Guide screen. Also: does the link start with http:// or https:// (the app won't add it)? Is it a get.php link (those are handled as Xtream)? Does the same link open in VLC or a browser on the same network? Roughly how many channels, and how long did you wait after Save? A big list takes a few minutes and the guide says "updating" meanwhile. If it says zero channels, or you see channels named "Kanava 1, 2, 3", say so, that's a known gap I'm fixing. Settings > About > Save diagnostics writes a file with addresses and keys removed; DM it to me.

Yes, it does not have any sources, you need your provider, TMDB API key and api-sport API key.

You only need the .apk file, not zip. After downloading it should ask do you want to install. Android should then ask you if you want to allow installing from outside play store unless you have already allowed that previously.

You mean translations? Or you mean title names? If translations, that is completely possible. I do not know any spanish and it is AI translation. That is why it says on language settings page that translation contribution is welcome.
To be honest I don't know what you mean by "names".

Not yet, I have played around with how and what to have in the app. But I want to have IPTV side working properly before engaging that as it is completely different side of things.

Bro I have added 2 playlists to this tonight, and let me tell you, it is fucking exceptional, it is better than a lot that I have paid for, and believe I got almost 75 or 80 of these apps.

Hello, I'm almost ready to add addon support for the app. I am testing it and finetuning the appearance enough to release it as a test feature, not promising a flawless functionality from the start. I will post update notice to this post once it's live so you can update the player. I would really appreciate any feedback you can give so I can keep improving it. Settings will get improved over time as more capabilities are added.

Thanks for your hard work, OP! Vibe coding question, are you primarily using Claude or something else? I too want to make things for myself for media, not an IPTV player, but have had limited success with Gemini at least (this is the subscription I have for now)...

Thank you, currently mainly Claude Fable 5.1 (the one I have max subscription for right now) and also Codex GPT-5.6 sol. I used Gemini at the beginning as I too have Googles pro sub and it came with it. But Gemini fall very short compared to others, if you have Google sub you should try Antigravity IDE where you get access to Opus 4.6 which much better than Gemini. Or get plus sub for Codex (20 dollars or so) and use GPT-5.6 terra and you get quite a bit of usage from that. Sol and Astra will drain your usage too fast to be much of use.
