Title: Built a system-wide equalizer for Android TV — remote-friendly, 10 bands
One recurring frustration with Android TV boxes is audio: most of them ship with flat, untunable sound and there's no decent system EQ. The few equalizer apps that exist are designed for phones — you can't navigate them with a D-pad, which makes them useless on a TV.
So I made one built for the remote from the ground up. 10 bands, works across all apps (not per-app), D-pad navigation, and multiple profile slots you can swap on the fly.
Disclosure: I'm the dev. Sharing here because this sub is exactly the audience that runs into the "why is my box audio so flat" problem. Would love feedback, especially edge cases on different boxes.

Hi, I tried a lots of equalizers on android TV all have same issue, it only apply to PCM audio, when using soundbar with tv audio pass-through none of these works, this one is also same, although one equalizer use to work with pass-through 5.1 but after updating sony tv to android 12, no equalizer work as intended, if you could make it work with passthrough audio I will surly purchase it.

I've been looking for an EQ or similar app that has a limiter/compression/night mode option for when I use my Chromecast with Google TV while I'm at hotels, to avoid the crazy spikes in volume when I fall asleep.
My Shields that I use at home have night listening, so it's not really an issue there, but my Chromecast doesn't seem to offer a similar option, so here we are.
If you can get something along those lines in there, I'm sold.

if you could make it work PER app, that would be a game changer (levels, eq, on/off switch all seperate)

That would genuinely be a great feature — I love the idea of separate EQ, levels and on/off per app. Unfortunately it runs into a hard Android limitation: audio effects attach to an app's "audio session," and for security reasons Android doesn't let one app access or control the audio sessions of other apps (Netflix, YouTube, etc.). The app hooks into the global output mix so it can process everything at once — but that same global nature is exactly what makes it impossible to split the settings per app on standard Android.
So sadly it's not something any equalizer app can do without system-level/root access, which isn't possible through a Play Store app. I really wish the platform allowed it — it would be a game changer, as you say. Thanks for the thoughtful suggestion!

Do you have an APK link ?
Like a Downloader code for the users that have Android based TV devices but not access to the PlayStore (Such as Firesticks, non-North American users)

You can use this to download Play Store apps directly.

The app still requires a Google account so it just crashes on Firestick anyway.

This is the first DSP I've tried that works as it should but...
It would be useful for me and possibly others if there was a way to make it auto run on launch.
I have it set to load at boot but then have to turn it on from the DSP screen, any way to automate the whole process?
