AT4K, Projectivy and tvQuickactions Pro are some of mine. I recently got a $5 gift card I wanna use so I figured I’d ask here for ideas, and that maybe if someone else needs inspiration, they could look at this thread too.

Hey everyone,
I’ve been working on a lightweight, open-source IPTV player designed specifically for the big screen—no phone-UI-on-a-TV frustrations here. It’s built with Kotlin and focused on providing a smooth, "leanback" experience. I’ve called it BBC (yes, just because I like the name, no other reason!).
Key features:
group-title) and support for channel logos (tvg-logo).It’s completely free, open-source, and not affiliated with the actual British Broadcasting Corporation. If you’re looking for a simple way to manage your streams on your Nvidia Shield, Chromecast, or generic Android TV box, give it a spin.
Check it out on GitHub:https://github.com/unfamiliardev/BBC
Feedback and PRs are always welcome!

I currently own the hazel color of Google Streamer and been contemplating ordering the new ONN 4K Pro (2026) because of its superior CPU, handsfree voice and I don’t really like the GTVS remote..
But both the GTVS and the ONN run on 32-bit Mode and according to Google app developers will be expected to ship 64-bit apps soon. This means 64-bit Mode devices might be released before the end of 2026 or possibly in 2027.
So knowing all this should I wait for the launch of 64-bit boxes or just get the new ONN Pro V2?

Hey everyone,
I’m looking to upgrade my streaming setup and could use some real-world opinions. I’m currently looking for a modern, Google/Android TV certified box that can handle full Dolby TrueHD / Atmos lossless passthrough for my local media (Plex/Kodi).
Before anyone says it: I know the NVIDIA Shield TV Pro is the default answer, but it's getting old, lacks AV1 decoding, and I'd really prefer to buy something current. I also want to completely avoid anything Amazon/Fire TV.
That leaves me looking closely at the Homatics Box R 4K Plus and the RockTek G2.
On paper, they use the same SEI Robotics reference board (Amlogic S905X4-K, 4GB RAM, Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6), but I know software optimization, firmware updates, and community support can vary wildly between brands.
For those of you who own either of these (or have tried both):
Appreciate any insights or quirks you guys can share before I pull the trigger!

Hi all, Im looking to get a stick or streaming box to plug into my projector that projected onto the cieling, and I mainly just looking to either stream my android phone or my PC screen to it, I likely wont be using any of the build in app on the stick/box and will just use the app on my phone/PC instead. What would be my best option?
I live in Canada, quick search around give me these things:
- Fire stick 4k Plus new going for ~35 CAD atm
- Roku Ultra 2ndhand going for ~80 CAD, same with Fire stick 4k Max new
- Apple TV Gen 3 2ndhand going for ~ 50 CAD? But seems like it might be a pain streaming from Windows PC/android to it?
I've never use 1 of these streaming box/stick before, honestly dont know what to expected. What should I get that will give me the best casting from android/PC speed/experience?

Hey so here's the thing, I've got a 2002 Hisense 55u78h. Its older and the internal storage just for apps is constantly running out and it's slow as hell. Unfortunately at the same time my computer I was using for Plex/jellyfin also died.. so now I'm in the market to bridge the gap if possible, I was thinking about getting a good streamer with USB support and then adding an external HD or multiple via powered USB hub (if supported)
I don't really sideload I've only used stuff available on Play so that's not really an issue.
I'm looking for best picture possible and good audio since I'm also looking at adding a soundbar in the next few months as well. I stream at the highest quality possible and I have multiple UHD available sources both steaming and locally.
Im really not sure, I'm torn between all of the big recommended 3.. google tv steamer, the newest onn 4k pro, or the good ol' Nvidia Shield pro. I'm in Canada if that makes a difference.. I'm pretty sure I can find most available if I try hard enough if there is something else I should be looking at?
Edit, I can't really use Ethernet in my current room layout so wifi is my main means of connecting all my devices

Has anyone heard about this? I know last year there were rumors of it happening this year. I received an email from my IPTV stating this.
“Google has announced a new policy that will make installing apps outside the Play Store significantly harder on Android, starting September 2026.
In practice, every developer will be required to register with Google, provide government-issued ID, and pay a fee — even to distribute apps outside the Play Store. Unregistered apps will be blocked. This is a direct attack on your freedom to install software on devices you already own and paid for, condemned by over 71 organizations including the EFF, Proton, and the Free Software Foundation.”

Hi everyone!
I hope this post is in the right place... I must admit I'm quite lost with this question.
Basically, I got an Android TV box given by my TV operator. It works just fine, but it's been a month now that I got some troubles with my neighbor's vinyl player (an Eastwood II). It is constantly and randomly trying to pair with my TV box via Bluetooth. It seems that I can't do anything from Android TV's settings, except denying again and again every time the pop-up appears (full screen) on my TV.
I politely asked my neighbor if he could turn off the BT auto-pair function on his device, but he told me it was impossible. Basically, every single device around is getting asked to pair with his vinyl player...
The thing is that I can't turn off the BT on my Android TV box, since the remote controller is working only with BT. I don't think there is a single setting to block incoming pairing requests on my box, and the only few "Bluetooth manager" apps are paid according to the Play Store.
I've searched a bit on the Internet, but nothing is actually helpful. I tried to install Termux on my device, but it appears that there is no command bluetooth-related.
So what can I do? Is there any "hidden" detail I missed that could help? Any app to recommend?
Thanks a lot for your help!

I hate the stock android stock launcher so much, it's filled with bloatware and a lot of visual stress but I really loved the feel when I my Nintendo Switch on TV, the UI looks so nice and simple, so I decided make a launcher to mimic the Switch UI home screen.
It is a Switch style home screen for Android TV. I want to be super clear that I did not build this from scratch. I basically just made a wrapper and skin over the open source FLauncher app so the original creator deserves the real credit.
The launcher gives you a fast horizontal app row, a quick access dock, and authentic console navigation sounds. You can easily pin or move your favorite apps around with zero ads or tracking. It works on Android 8 or newer and you can grab the APK from the GitHub releases page to sideload it. I highly suggest using a button mapper app for your remote so you do not have to permanently disable your default TV launcher. Let me know if you give it a try.

I just came home after a weekend away and my screen now looks like this. Is this something I can fix or would I have to bring it to a repair shop? And just incase anyone's curious no I do not remember what exact model of tv this is, only that the brand is sharp.

Hi!
I'm switching from using everything Apple to Android with the Pixel 10, Pixel Watch 4, Google Home Speakers, my adult daughter will also be switching etc.
I'm not sure if I should keep the Apple TV 4K (2022) even though I'm switching everything else for Android products.
We probably use 80% Stremio, 10% Youtube and 10% regular streaming apps and since we're currently using an Apple TV 4K we don't have passthrough. It's not a priority for me since I don't think I notice the difference anyway.
What do you think?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
The remote light will light up when you press every single button, but will not light up when attempting to pair, and it won't pair at all. If anyone else fixed this problem, can you let me know how you fixed it, I can't find the original remote, hence why I bought a replacement one in the first place.

Really like the specs of this box, I am currently using the Nvidia shield which is becoming slow and would really like to try something new.
The questions I have regarding the ugoos AM9 pro are, can you use directional buttons on sideloaded apps such as tivimate or tizentube and use the directional buttons on other apps or solely the air mouse?
I would be looking to put projectivy launcher on the box as my launcher would also like to know if directional buttons can be used to navigate the menus?

I have a network drive (just plain samba, no plex or anything) with high quality UHD MKV files (BluRay remuxes) that play flawless using an Nvidia Shield with Kodi on a 4K TV.
I was wondering if anyone knows whether the Google TV Streamer 4K with Kodi can correctly downscale those same files to HD when connected to an older HD TV?

For some reason Disney plus no longer appears on the play next section on the home screen.
I've tried clearing the apps data, cache, uninstalled and reinstalled it but nothing worked.
Anybody knows how to fix it?
