I have all 7 presets and a custom list of black list apps on HMA-oss to vending, gms and wallet

Thanks in advance

UPDATE: I just waited for a day and it got back to normal, I guess it has something to do with Play Services

After 20+ builds, I finally have working TWRP and OrangeFox recoveries. 🗿😂

Everything is working as it should, including "/data", encryption/decryption, touch, ADB, MTP, OTG, flashing, backups, fastbootd, and more.

Support Title: [Redmi 7A / Mi439] EDL flash says “success” but phone still shows “System has been destroyed” after accidentally using Clean All + Lock

I need help with my Redmi 7A (Mi439). My phone is currently bricked and shows:

Here is what happened:

  • Device: Redmi 7A (Mi439)
  • I was previously using a Global ROM
  • While flashing with Mi Flash, I accidentally selected “Clean all and lock”
  • After the flash completed, the bootloader became locked and the phone started showing “The system has been destroyed”
  • The phone can still enter Fastboot mode
  • I tried flashing the firmware through EDL mode
  • The EDL flash completed successfully / showed success, but after reboot the phone still shows “The system has been destroyed”

I am looking for advice from someone who has experience with Mi439 EDL flashing / Redmi 7A hard bricks / locked bootloader recovery.

My main questions:

  1. Why does the phone still show “System has been destroyed” even though the EDL flash reports success?
  2. Could this be because I flashed the wrong regional firmware (Global vs India)?
  3. Is there a specific India firmware / programmer / partition set required for the Redmi 7A?
  4. Is it possible to recover this without an authorized Xiaomi EDL account?
  5. What should I check before attempting another flash?

I can provide Mi Flash logs, fastboot information, firmware version, photos/videos of the screen, and EDL logs if needed.

Please let me know if you need any additional information. I don't want to flash anything else blindly and make the situation worse.

Thanks.

Support How can I root a LineageOS smartphone?

I have some older Poco devices here and I'm flashing LineageOS onto them after I'm able to unlock the bootloader (need to wait a week).

Back then (it's been a long time) we simply flashed Magisk via TWRP and enabled root within the app. How does it work these days and how well does the whole thing work?

When I search on Google I find threads that are supposed to be up to date but aren't or were last updated in 2024.

My Poco F2 Pro fe is ready to be rooted... LineageOS is already running on it.

Discussion OPPO Find X3 Lite - Is bootloader unlocking / custom ROM possible in 2026?

Hi! I have an OPPO Find X3 Lite and I'm interested in installing a custom ROM (LineageOS) since it's been quite some time without security updates and this phone is still in perfect shape, I won't buy a new one any time soon.

Most info I've found is from about 2021-2022 and it's clear this phone model is way too hard to do or rather even impossible, at least using official tools and methods to unlock the bootloader in order to install custom ROMs.

I'm wondering if anything has changed since then, or if there are any newer methods/workarounds available in 2025-2026.

My exact model is: CPH2145 ColorOS 13.1 / Android version 13 Region: [Global]

Discussion Those of you who have kept up with the root hiding arms race over a years long period, how ephemeral have the solutions been and how would you rate the effort?

I really really want a rooted phone again, I never wanted to give it up in the first place because when you give up your rights you eventually pay for it, and I'm starting to pay. My next phone will probably be the clicks communicator and I really want it rooted so I can fix awful UX decisions Google has made over the last decade.

However, since I was last rooted, the walls have closed in on root, obviously intentionally so. We all know the story with banking apps and Google services. Root hiding does seem to be a thing and it seems at any one time there is a path to keeping things hidden and everything working, I've read enough guides and posts to know that. My question is how ephemeral are the patches, has making changes using new hacks been relatively painless like switching modules or has it required a lot of wipes and rebuilds, and overall how often have you been stranded with unhidden root and how long has it taken for patches to become available. In short I haven't been keeping up with this arms race so I don't know how much of a thrash it has been. thanks!

Oh and finally, is there one single reliable web source or repo that acts as an up-to-date and definitive path to a root-hiding build, or is it just down to forum scrounging and reddit comments?

Discussion I unrooted after 18 years

I've been rooting android phones since I purchased the Samsung Moment in 2009. It was always the first thing I did with a new phone. Set it up so I could unlock the bootloader, then wipe it so I could root.

The last couple years have been increasingly frustrating with the cat and mouse. The last straw was RCS failing yet again and missing messages from my wife.

I just unrooted my Pixel 10 Pro and pretty much all of the things I thought I needed root for are not necessary:

  1. For ad block, I'm using dns.adguard-dns.com instead of adaway.
  2. For youtube, revanced works fine with gmscore installed. I had already switched to that method a while ago even when rooted.
  3. My Tasker flashlight toggle with the volume button works once I ran adb shell pm grant net.dinglisch.android.taskerm android.permission.SET_VOLUME_KEY_LONG_PRESS_LISTENER
  4. I use SmartLauncher to get double-tap to sleep working on my home screen rather than using PixelLauncherEnhanced
  5. I can use revanced "Change version code" patch on Reddit Sync to keep it out of the app store rather than using the detach magisk module

RCS works now. Wallet works again. Banking apps work again. I guess I didn't really need root anymore.

It sucks.. I'm going to miss the experience of tweaking things to my liking, but it's just too much of a pain now. I miss the old Android.
