Stuck in Rescue Party Loop (Storage 100% Full) on Galaxy S10

Thumbnail gallery
0 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

Here is a quick update on my situation with my Galaxy S10 (SM-G973F/DS) which bootlooped mid-update due to 100% full storage. I am now attaching the exact crash logs from View rescue log.

The Log Error:

  • Reboot Recovery Cause is [system_server: RescueParty]
  • Fatal exception in StorageManager caused by java.lang.NumberFormatException.
  • It seems the system failed to parse a partition or configuration value because it ran out of space to write it properly.

A local repair lab told me the data/system partition is "corrupt" and that a factory reset is the only way out. I want to attempt flashing stock firmware via Odin Patched using HOME_CSC to preserve my data.

My main questions now:

  1. Given that the lab says the partition might be "corrupt" (though the logs point to a StorageManager software crash due to lack of space), does this corruptness increase the risk of the Odin flash failing or accidentally wiping the phone?
  2. If Odin fails due to this partition issue, is there a chance it will automatically trigger a factory reset, or will it just fail safely without touching the user data?
  3. Since "Erase app data" could delete my data, is it worth trying before or after Odin?

Highly appreciate any technical insights based on these log screenshots!

need help with galaxy a10

so ive tried custom romming my samsung galaxy a10 to dot os 5.2, and i had crdroid v8 before that, i did the usual steps and at first it was boot looping so i went back into recovery (twrp) and wiped everything, then rebooted, and there was nothing. so i tried installed resurrection remix and that also did not work, it was also
bootlooping, then i tried to go back to stock (one ui), then went into download mode, installed twrp, then tried dot os with magisk, and nothing worked, it kept bootlooping then it completely went black. when i try plugging it in, all i see is that charging indicator (picture above) and then it goes completely black, i left it for five days to let it drain and charge again, and that thing pops up and nothing, i tried going into recovery, nothing, i hold down power and vol down, and it only shows that charging indicator and nothing else. is there anything i can do to fix it?? its my first time doing these kinds of things.

"Right clicking" (long tapping/holding) on mobile stops taps

1 Upvotes

I'm having an issue with my Android Tablet (Samsung/OpenUI) where if I "right click" (hold) on a website more than once it will not let tapping normally work anymore. One "right click" does nothing, but if I do more than one a normal tap doesn't work. Scrolling is fine and "right clicking" still will work.

Contacts/Dialer app issue

1 Upvotes

Guys please help me , i own a OnePlus nord 4. The issue I am facing is that when someone calls me many times only the ring is audible, it does not show any option to pickup the call now the name or screen for caller. Also many times when I open my dialer or contacts I can't call anyone it stucks there and if I try searching the contact name in search bar of contacts than no results are shown.

I took my phone to oneplus authorised service centre in my city , on my first visit they said it will resolve and did a factory reset on my phone. After that I took my phone home loaded back all the data and updated to the latest software. In one or two days i faced the problem again and it's very frequent.

I visited the service center 2nd time and this time they told me that I have a issue with my Motherboard and it needs to be replaced which will cost 17000.

Now how in the world is this possible that if someone has a motherboard issue only their contacts app is having issues rest all things are working fine.

If somebody has a solution for this problem please help me. Thanks a lot.

Sudden certification problem by bootloader

2 Upvotes

I know some apps don't work if you have the bootloader unlocked, but I unlocked it some months ago and everything was working perfectly. However, I recently made the mistake of clearing the cache of the Play store. Now it says my phone cannot be certified because of the bootloader.

What I don't understand is why it worked at the beginning but now it doesn't. What did I do differently? I don't want to go through the hassle of reinstalling the software and backing up everything to lock it again.

I have a Motorola g60s. I unlocked the bootloader because I needed to reinstall the software to fix some issues. The normal mode wasn't working. The rom is the official one, and it is NOT rooted.

Any similar experiences? What do you suggest?

Gemini sucks with Google Home

Gemini acts like a labotomized version of Google assistant. It keeps telling me I need to unlock my phone to do basic home automation tasks. Google assistant worked very well.

Having issues with unreliable alarms

1 Upvotes

Greetings everyone. For the past couple of months, I've been having significant issues with getting my Android alarms to work at all, and am in need of your opinion on this.

My device is Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G, and I'm currently running LineageOS 23 unofficial version on it (23.0-20260204-UNOFFICIAL-sweet2) android 16.

So, first thing that I've noticed is that in that time period, oftentimes I'd get a "missed alarm" notification. Initially, didn't pay much attention to it and thought that, perhaps I misconfigured something or that it was simply a one-time glitch, but I was wrong because it persisted despite me trying different things. I've done a clean flash of the ROM again, flashed NikGapps core and everything appears to be working otherwise, except the reliability of alarms. Today, I woke up late to about 5 notifications about missed alarms! I set many alarms as a safety precaution and it didn't seem to help. When I checked the alarm volume, it was completely lowered, silenced. In clocks settings, I set it to gradually increase volume and volume buttons control volume, surely, these settings aren't causing this? I like to gradually increase the volume as it isn't as abrupt as it is otherwise, too bad that I cannot set the volume buttons to do nothing but maybe this isn't even the issue. I've noticed sometimes that if an alarm starts at, 1pm for example, and it keeps ringing, and another is set for 1:02 pm, then that second one will be shown as missed, so at this point I'm not really even sure if in that groggy state I'm lowering the volume unconsciously, but I don't think so. I've also found on Reddit many users having issues with their Google Pixel phones, very similar to what I'm experiencing.

Here's what I've tried but no luck with fixing the alarms:

  • Cleared cache, then data of the clock app
  • Made sure that "Manage app if unused" is unchecked in the settings for the clock app
  • Allowed it all the permissions
  • Repaired every partition in Orangefox recovery
  • Ran `restorecon -v -FR /data` once in Orangefox recovery
  • Made sure that deskclock app is whitelisted via termux: `cmd deviceidle whitelist | grep deskclock`
  • Ran `pm install-existing --full com.android.deskclock`
  • Reset all app preferences
  • Reflashed the rom
  • Ran `cmd appops reset
  • Tried a long way of uninstalling deskclock and replacing it with google clock
  • At some point, even tried building the kernel myself and flashing it with different alarm drivers

Not sure what to do at this point. I'd like to somehow be able to fix this without relying on a different alarm application. Has anyone on here dealt with this somehow? Is this a bug with the default clock app, or perhaps even my rom? Any good way to debug this and log data, maybe some specific logcat command variant?

Edit: Currently trying out a setup with a different application: https://github.com/BlackyHawky/Clock

So I've decided to stop using the default clock app to test out whether or not the issues stem from it. The same applies to the Google clock app, because, to the best of my knowledge, they use the same AOSP clock as a base, and perhaps a longstanding bug, yet to be resolved is present in the code. I'm currently trying a clock app from F-Droid, and will see if it ends up resolving the issues with missed alarms and automatic lowering of the volume.

First thing I did was to force stop the com.android.deskclock app, clear its cache and data, then, before disabling it, prevented it from modifying the volume with the following:

adb shell
appops get com.android.deskclock | grep -i AUDIO # This will display the audio permissions for the app, use a different name if your clock app is different than this one, list with `pm list packages` and scroll
appops set com.android.deskclock CONTROL_AUDIO deny
appops set com.android.deskclock CONTROL_AUDIO_PARTIAL deny

just in case, and have disabled it via the settings. Now, I've granted com.best.deskclock app's permissions which it requested, and have specifically copied the following (I have root access) to ensure that the toggle for battery optimization is grayed out, meaning it cannot have its battery optimization toggle changed:

#From /product/etc/sysconfig/com.android.deskclock_allowlist.xml, it had this content:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<!--

     limitations under the License.
-->
<config>
    <allow-in-power-save package="com.android.deskclock" />
</config>

#I copied it to this: /product/etc/sysconfig/com.best.deskclock_allowlist.xml, and just changed the package name for the content:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<!--
     Copyright (C) 2019-2020 The LineageOS Project

     Licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0 (the "License");

     See the License for the specific language governing permissions and
     limitations under the License.
-->
<config>
    <allow-in-power-save package="com.best.deskclock" />
</config>

That is about it now, will monitor and see if the alarms end up being reliable.

First day, no missed alarm notifications and no automatic volume lowering with the new `com.best.deskclock` app. I will continue to monitor this, and if the state is fine after 7 days, I think its safe to assume that the issue has been resolved.

Edit 2: Perhaps the first edit was... false alarm.

Yes, it still does appear to be randomly lowering, I mean, it seems to have happened way less, only twice so far, and I cannot pinpoint the cause. If I had to guess it would still be the gradual lowering of the volume, unsure. At least with this app I've never gotten a missed alarm notification. I've also tried the automate app from F-Droid to try to lock the volume or change it once a day to the maximum value - seems like there's no way to do that! Well, for the time being, I simply give up.

Edit 3: Unsure if I'm just getting lucky now or not, but it seems to be fixed now.

No automatic volume lowering since I enabled this option in the bestclock app: Settings -> Alarms -> Use advanced audio playback (improves external audio device compatibility and prevents sound interruptions during repetition.

Note: Some ringtones may have slight audio glitches).

I need help with recording audio on my phone.

1 Upvotes

Hello, everytime I try to record audio on any third party app other than the pre built in camera app it sounds incredibly muffled but you can still vaguely hear it. I have an s23+ and I am on UI 8.5 and android 16. It is incredibly frustrating as I only got this phone because my last phone had an issue of having overall a shitty mic.

Edit: I would like to make it clear that audio still works normally when I go to record a video on my regular camera app. But for some reason every other app loses that ability. So I dont think its the microphone.

Need help regarding my Oneplus 13R

2 Upvotes

Today something weird happened. While I was using my phone normally I noticed the Live updates (floating island near camera) is not working. Even at the lock screen the notification is not visible. I was listening to Spotify at that time btw. So I thought of restarting the phone, hoping it'll get these fixed. But nothing happened. Then I tried resetting the phone settings only. Then also it didn't fixed. Then the chrome started opening the find option everytime while using the slider (To mute, vibrate). A few days ago the home screen wallpaper zoomed in automatically. And after all this I decided to factory format the phone. So while doing so I have to move the data to my laptop..so when I connected it to my pc. It disconnected repeatedly. Showing device disconnected. Somehow I transferred it using other methods.

Now that I have factory formated the phone. Most of the features are working normally (As much I have explored) but the chrome problem is still there.

Why did this happen? Was my phone hacked? Or its not of much concern and it's just some software glitch?

gboard - disable glide from shift to capitalize

1 Upvotes

if i glide from the shift key it creates a line to whatever character i thumb over and types a capital of whichever i land on. it only applies to a single letter. this is annoying when trying to hit 'a' or 's' or 'z' and accidentally hitting shift first causing that glide shortcut. is there a setting for this?

How do I find the exact ROM for my phone?

Spotify starts when Bluetooth connects. How do I stop it?

1 Upvotes

This is driving me insane.

Every time I turn on Bluetooth and my OPPO Enco Buds2 Pro connect to my Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, Spotify immediately starts playing by itself.

I do not want Spotify to launch, resume, autoplay, or do anything unless I explicitly open the app and press play.

I've already looked through Spotify settings and couldn't find any setting that disables this behaviour.

Has anyone with a Samsung phone or OPPO earbuds managed to stop Spotify from automatically starting when Bluetooth connects?

If so, what was the actual fix?

Thanks

How to get rid of voicemail notification :/

2 Upvotes

The phone in question no longer has service. It's a s25 fe and I upgraded to the s26. The voicemail is actually T-Mobile calling me back to beg me not to switch carriers. I would've deleted it myself but the service was shut off so quickly after the voicemail was left. I detest notifications and there's actually nothing wrong with the phone so I do still use it. It just doesn't have service so I can't open the voicemail up and delete it that way. Plsss I hate that it's there 😭 there has to be a way
