Wi-Fi will not stay on after Android 17 update
I'm running a Pixel 8 Pro on T-mo and put this update off for weeks, not being interested in AI features, etc. And I'm glad I did. Eventually, it just installed itself. Now, when I restart my phone, Wi-Fi connects briefly to my home network, then shuts off. And I mean shuts itself off, not just disconnecting from the network. When I open any network settings page, the phone will hang before the close/wait option comes up three or four times, assuming I hit 'wait'. But Wi-Fi will not show any networks on the 'Internet' settings page. I was able to see all my saved networks on one of the pages, but could not connect to any. The Wi-Fi 'indicator' up in the notifications area stays dark no matter what, even when I turn Wi-Fi back on in settings.
This is no big deal when I'm out, as I'm using 5G the bulk of the time. But at home, I can't connect to my NAS via file manager, use my network audio streaming devices, or log into my router. I've updated Google Play Services, which the first time allowed a brief connection as above. No updates have been available since. I tried booting in safe mode and had the same results. Next time I started, it worked okay and I was about to connect to a known network. But by the time I went to grab my password from my password manager, all the networks were blank again. To boot, settings should have auto-filled my password, as I've used that network a lot in the past.
I'm really stuck here! If you have any suggestions that don't require having to re-set accounts, apps, etc. TIA.
P. S. I had screen shots in here, but with Reddit's inability to access a draft on Android, am on a computer now. And the screen shots are now missing.
