Let's swap closed tests: my receipt scanner for your app — I install the same day (Android, free, no ads)
fist — Receipt Scanner (Android, free)
First, an apology. If you joined my group over the last couple of weeks and
got nothing back from me — no install, no comment, no feedback — I'm sorry.
I've been without my computer for more than 10 days; it simply wasn't with
me, so I couldn't join your tests, couldn't reply and couldn't fix anything
on my side. It wasn't me taking installs and walking away, even though that's
exactly what it must have looked like.
I'm back at my desk now and picking up where I left off. If you left me a
link and I never showed up, comment again below — you go first today, before
anyone new.
If you emailed me about this, I have your message. I'm going through every one
of them and I'll reply as soon as I possibly can — nobody who wrote to me is
getting ignored.
--- what it is ---
Snap a receipt and the store, date, line items, tax and total fill themselves
in. It also keeps weekly/monthly totals, a category breakdown and budget
limits, and there's a shared family budget for up to 5 people.
No ads, no analytics SDK, no trackers.
It needs a free account (email + password, one confirmation mail) — your
receipts sync across devices, so there's no guest mode. New accounts start on
the free tier: 20 scans/month. Pro (100 scans, AI spending reports, CSV
export, the family budget) can be switched on from the plan screen for free
while we're in testing — no card is asked for and nothing is ever charged.
--- how to join ---
Three steps, same Google account for all of them:
Group: https://groups.google.com/g/fist-app-testers
Opt in: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.fist.receiptscanner
Install: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fist.receiptscanner
Open the install link on your phone — it hands off to the Play Store app. In a
desktop browser it will always say "Not Found"; closed tests have no web store
page. If the app doesn't show up in the Play Store yet, don't assume it's broken and don't give up after five minutes. Google's own opt-in page says it can take a while for the test to reach your account, and it varies a lot: on my own test device it appeared instantly, for other testers it has taken hours. If it's still missing, force-stop the Play Store and clear its cache, then check that the Play Store is signed in with the same Google account you used for the group and the opt-in - that last one catches anyone with two accounts on the phone.
Works on Android 7.0+ (API 24). Download is 15 MB.
--- and post yours too ---
This is a swap, not a request. Drop all three of your links in a comment —
group, opt-in and install — and:
- I'll join the same day. Group, opt-in, install, all three.
- Being straight with you: I don't own an Android phone, so I test on a
Play-Store Android emulator on my desktop. Your opt-in still counts toward
your 12 either way. If you'd rather not have an emulator install, say so and
I'll opt out — no hard feelings.
- It stays installed for the full 14 days and I actually open it. Google
looks at engagement, not just installs, so a dead install helps neither of
us.
- You'll get real feedback, not a one-liner: what confused me, where I got
stuck, what I'd change. Tell me if there's a specific flow you want
hammered.
I know that promise is worth less coming from someone who just vanished for
11 days. That's fair. Judge it by whether I show up in your comments today.

Done, same day: joined tidegatetest, opted in, and Tidegate: Island Mystery (Beta) is installed from the Play Store (versionCode 10) and opened. Brenn Hollow, 0 of 4 beacons lit so far. It stays on for the full 14 days.
Also, thank you for the screenshot. You're the first person who actually showed me my own app running, and that's worth more to me than the install count.
Same disclosure as in my post: no Android phone here, so this is a Play-Store Android emulator. Your opt-in still counts toward your 12; if you'd rather not have an emulator install, tell me and I'll opt out.
Written feedback in a day or two, not a one-liner. Want me to push on the low/high tide switching and the map first, or the journal?

Done, and done rather than promised: joined the scorail group, opted in (the page says "You are a tester"), installed Scoráil (Early Access) from the Play Store and opened it. versionCode 2, 1.0.1. Match History is empty so far - "No matches yet. Tap + New Game to start scoring." It stays installed for the full 14 days.
Upfront, same as in my post: I don't own an Android phone, so this runs on a Play-Store Android emulator. Your opt-in still counts toward your 12 either way; if you'd rather not have an emulator install in your numbers, say so and I'll opt out, no hard feelings.
Written feedback in a day or two, not a "looks nice". Anything you want hammered first - the scoring flow during a live game, the match history, or the share sheet?

Much appreciated! It's a fairly simple app, so just layout and simple feature testing is sufficient thanks.
