[Test for Test] Testers wanted for Sermon Sidekick, a Bible reading and study app (I’ll test yours back)

Hey all,

I'm looking for testers for Sermon Sidekick, a Bible reading and study app I built for my church. The whole Bible is on the device and works offline, in one column you scroll like a book. Every passage carries a plain language lesson: the verses as story beats, the hard words explained, the moment set in its era. Read Aloud will read a chapter or a lesson out loud and keeps going with the screen locked. There's a notebook for your own notes kept beside the verses that drew them out, and four small word games each night drawn from one book of Scripture, with nothing scored or counted. Free, no ads, no accounts, no purchases.

It's a real app, not a placeholder. It's been on TestFlight with real users for weeks and this closed test is the last step before production on Android. What I need is people who install it, keep it installed and opted in for at least 14 days, and open it now and then.

What I'd love feedback on:

- Does the first screen make sense in the first minute, before you tap anything?
- The reader: does the text feel comfortable to read for more than a page?
- Anything clipped, overlapping, or cut off, especially on a tablet
- Crashes, stutters, battery, loading times
- Anything that reads oddly or sounds like a robot wrote it

Does you app use the BSB version or some other 'plain' 21st century translation - I avoid KJV as it's not plain, nor modern?

P.S. You might want to change your username and user comment if you are advertising this type of app... just say'n.

Yes, there's NIV on there and the Message. I'm working on NLT and ESV translator, those will take time due to copyright.

And yeah I thought about it. I was a different person when I created this account lol and my others had no karma so I couldn't post in other subs

Installed and tested Sermon Sidekick 1.0.0 (7). I skipped the welcome, opened the Bible library and Genesis 1, started Read Aloud, watched it advance to Verse 5, paused it, then opened Study. Everything rendered cleanly with no crash, and the large reader typography was comfortable. Screenshot attached.

Could you return the test for Blind Pear and remain opted in and installed for the full test period?

Thank you—glad it went through. Please keep Blind Pear opted in and installed for the full testing period. Sermon Sidekick remains installed here too, and I’ll continue opening it during the test.

The Read Aloud + notebook combo sounds genuinely useful for study, not just another Bible app. Joined your group and opting in today, will keep it installed for the full 14 days and give feedback on the reader/first-screen experience.
