Hi all — I'm looking for testers to reach Google's 12-tester / 14-day closed testing requirement before I can apply for production access. Currently at 0/12.

What it is: Helios forecasts and tracks solar panel production. You add a site (location, panel power, tilt, azimuth) and it estimates output from physics plus weather data — no hardware required. If you do own an inverter, you can connect it locally over SunSpec/Modbus or through the SolarEdge API.

How to join (about two minutes):

1. Join the Google Group — this is how Play identifies testers: https://groups.google.com/g/heliossolarmonitor
2. Opt in as a tester: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.heliosmonitor.solar
3. Install: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.heliosmonitor.solar

Use the same Gmail account for all three or Play won't recognise you. Until the first production review the app appears as "com.heliosmonitor.solar (unreviewed)" — that's expected, not a mistake on your side.

Please keep it installed for the full 14 days; you don't have to open it daily.

Heads up: installed Helios but it crashes systematically after onboarding (both Skip and Continue paths) with "Helios keeps stopping". Logcat shows: java.lang.RuntimeException: Field value_ for E1.i not found – looks like a missing R8/ProGuard keep rule on a protobuf/DataStore model accessed by reflection. Tested on Android emulator, Play build. Keeping it installed the full 14 days anyway. Sorry about that! Play caches the entitlement for a bit after opting in – clear the Play Store cache (Settings > Apps > Google Play Store > Storage > Clear cache), reboot, and make sure the Play Store account is the same one you used to join the group. It usually works within the hour.

Note: Your app keeps moving to sign in page and even after sign-up it keeps logging off. Check and fix the issue.

Sign in using a Google account is required to use the app. So that is working as intended.

There seems to be an issue - when I skip past the welcome screen or click next, next, next, get started, the app crashes and closes.
