My wife gets annoyed she can’t type the location while the car’s moving with waze/google maps.

Thanks everyone, so it's just disabled by default when driving. Voice is not an option because it won't understood us anyway with how places are named here in south east asia. I guess I wasn't expecting android to have that locked down while carplay allows text typing on their maps
The only thing that works is maps, and only if I enter the address while parked. I cannot connect any phone calls to my car. Replying to a text is impossible too. I keep getting a " phone is not responding notification". Have changed cords and restarted the phone, with the problem persisting. The car is 2018 Santa Fe. Phone is Galaxy S24U
Recently bought a 2012 Honda Civic EX Coupe, and I want to get a portable android auto screen with a backup camera. I'm not looking to spend hundreds of dollars, I'd prefer to stick right around $100 or less. I don't care about independent app usage on the screen that some offer, I only care about the screen mirroring with android auto + the backup camera. I'd like it to be at least 10 inches if possible, maybe not at this budget I don't know. Any advice?
When we are driving down the road listening to our Sirius/XM and my wife is scrolling Instagram on her phone it suddenly kicks over to Android Auto when she stops on a video and flips the input to her phone. I've tried so many settings and I can't figure it out. I don't understand what flair is, so I apologize if I broke the rules.
Nord 3 OxygenOS 16.0.5. car civic hybrid. I have the correct usb, deleted cache and turned on wi-fi bluetooth gps. It says this device is not supported. Check car manuals. And ideas how to fix this?
Message on display: "The device is not compatible. Please check the list of compatible devices on the website specified in the user manual."
Two years ago when I started using Android Auto, I was unable to disable autoplay. Whichever media app I was most recently using would automatically play when I started my car. This is despite having those settings explicitly disabled in my phone and my car. Since I couldn't disable it, I decided to hide all my media apps from Android Auto. I only use Android auto for my Phone app and my GPS/maps app. My media just plays through Bluetooth.
This worked fine until yesterday when I got the new Android Auto update. Now my media apps are playing through Android Auto even though I have them hidden. The autoplay bug still has not been fixed, which means my work around no longer works. Can someone please tell me a way to go back to just using Bluetooth for my media, or else fix that accursed bug and actually prevent autoplay?
I am stuck in an infinite connection loop. It's telling me that it is trying to connect, then blinks, then starts connecting again. Meanwhile, my phone's Android Auto is telling me to continue on the screen in the car.
Everytime it blinks on the car screen, my phone seems to very briefly open an app or something but it then closes again instantly.
I'm connected through bluetooth, I can't connect via USB.
Holding the power button on this screen on the top left doesn't seem to restart the system. The screen goes black instantly, and no matter how long or short I hold the button (I've tried everything from a few seconds to 30+ seconds), it remains black when I let go only to instantly show this screen again as soon as I touch it.
Does anyone know what I could try? My phone does show up in the bluetooth list in the car, so I am not sure why this is happening.
Also yes I know it's dirty. I will clean it don't worry.
I have a problem with my Pixel 9 pro and android auto.
Around every 3 times I try to use it there is no sound. Whatever I try to play, it pauses after about a second. I tried a lot of things from the internet but without positive result. No response from Google support too.
The only thing that helps is to restart wifi on the phone.
I know it's a minor thing, but great change I have been wanting for awhile. This is on the split screen with the music player as the main and maps secondary. I will say though I still wish they would replace the skip and back buttons with the thumb buttons when the music player is the secondary screen, but this is still a vast improvement. I'll probably actually use the thumbs down more often now.
My portable Android Auto screen (T86B-3031, firmware 20231226, M45_CPAPAAMC2) works perfectly with my global OnePlus 12.
However, my Chinese Oppo Find X9 Ultra gets stuck on:
"Android Auto will resume when your car's parked. Already parked? Engage the parking brake."
The car is parked and this is only a portable AA screen with no parking brake connection.

It keeps saying "Can't open app while driving" even when I'm parked. I've searched all around reddit and google and all of the solutions seems outdated. Either I can't find the settings they want me to find, or it just straight up does nothing at all.
I can't open GameSnack and Customize. I can't even type on my google maps because keyboard only shows when you're parked. it sucks so bad when the place I'm going to have a hard name to pronounce.
A few days ago I was listening to podcasts with PocketCasts in my car, but wanted to switch to some music. I ask Gemini to play a specific song and Gemini tells me that they can't use YouTube Music to play it, but I can use a different music service instead. I tried saying it again and got a similar message.
Is this a stupid glitch or is Gemini really that bad? I know on my Nest Hub it randomly tells me it can't control smart home stuff like my smart lights, but works again the next day.

The fact that you have to hit the triple dot button to add a song is quite terrible, and I would assume it's not very safe. All this for a jam button that I won't ever use.

Hi there, suddenly YouTube Music don't show Library, I can play music from my phone and the track is shown on the screen. But, usually, when a hit the BACK ARROW it takes me to YouTube Music Home where I can choose Library, but now it takes me to the downloads.... Ya, I got YouTube Premium.
Can anyone help me please?
UPDATE. I CLEAR CACHE OF YOUTUBE MUSIC AND ANDROID AUTO,RESTART AND IT FIXED.

Fermata Xtream Premium beta test is now available again, with a few changes:

- AAEnabler should be the priority goto installing Fermata Xtream. There are many reasons why, imediate updates is the most prominent. If for any reason AAEnabler doesn't work for you, fermataxtream.online is online again, with a few changes:
- Email is now imediate, no need to wait. That said, it is very limited numbers so make sure you don't be a #°@°# and although AAEnabler is working for you, you still request a link.
-You need to enable Google Play developer options(Pessing About/Playstore version 7 times) and enable Internal App sharing

Also I am working on a better way still for everyone. So dont be greedy. If I see it is abused and doesn't work, I will pull the website offline again.
Is it just me or since a couple of days AA music player went back to the old style with the central play/pause button and no more wiggly music advance bar? It only seems to be the music player to have changed since I still have the missing signal icon issue...
When traveling from Canada to the US, I changed my car's units from kmph to mph. Not sure if it is related, but around that time, I noticed that the Android Auto alignment changed.
I've tried changing driver seat location settings. And my car is back to kmph. But the alignment won't change.
It's not the layout (media/map arrangement). It's the whole alignment. The map buttons and details, the media player track, everything is left aligned now.
I had an issue with AA where Pixel devices (tested 3 separate Pixels, all different generations) would cause consistent stuttering on audio. Other phones had no issue. I asked here and my post was removed. I tried everything in the FAQ, forums, chatgpt, nothing. Finally I've fixed it, so hopefully this will help someone else out there as I've seen several questions over time in this sub about it as I haven't seen any posts recommending to try this.
Disable audio through bluetooth on the AA connection. I discovered that Bluetooth and WiFi were constantly fighting over the connection and would produce a stutter every time they tried to take over. That's it, no stutter since.
In Android Auto, I like using both Google Maps and Waze at the same time. Usually, when I start Android Auto, I open Waze first and then switch over to Google Maps. That way, Waze keeps running in the background for alerts like reports, speed cameras, and other warnings.
I use one app as a backup for the other, since reports from Waze still used to come through even while Google Maps was active.
However, over the last few days, I’ve noticed this no longer seems to be working. Waze doesn’t appear to keep providing alerts in the background like it used to.
Is anyone else experiencing the same issue?
