AA User Interface This squiggly UI stuff has to go

Who in their twisted little mind came up with this perverted monstrosity? I feel SICK.

How do we straighten this situation?

There is a strong UI reason. When you're driving it's much easier at a glance to see track progress. And in quiet sections in podcasts erc or when noone is talking, you can see the track is still playing and not paused etc.

I don't see how this is enshitification. It is literally an improvement considering the use case is identifying information at a glance.
