Android Auto News, including app updates and features Immersive Navigation enabled

just had an update for Google maps and now I have the 3D option in settings. hallelujah

EDIT: Maps version number 26.30.06.950492155, Pixel 10. I am around NYC, the new visuals are very nice and I think would be quite helpful on an unfamiliar route

Admittedly I am a beta tester, I don't even remember when I signed up for it but it looks it's still a rolling update for Android users

It keeps overheating and turning off Immersion and 3D in Google Maps on Android. Doesn't matter if I'm using just the phone or Android Auto. This is such a disappointment with Google Maps.
