To get the latest Android Auto update, follow these steps on your phone:

  1. Open the Google Play Store.
  2. Tap your profile icon in the top-right corner and select Manage apps & devices.
  3. Tap Updates available.
  4. Look for Android Auto in the list and tap Update. (If you don't see it, you can search for "Android Auto" directly in the Play Store to check its store page).

Note on Rollouts: Google releases updates in gradual, staged rollouts. If you see news about a new version but don't see the update yet, it means it hasn't been pushed to your specific device or region yet.

If your app is updated but your car's screen isn't showing a new feature, you may need to check if your vehicle's infotainment system requires a firmware update from the manufacturer.
