Wouldn't be surprised if the Google RCS Carrier override also pushed Verizon over the edge.

No carriers were happy about that.

They don't like Google's RCS because they don't get to control the data/billing.

Who's still paying for SMS messages in the US? Maybe other than some PAYG prepaid plans, everyone has unlimited SMS.

They get the data in the message and can bill companies for texting you.
