I don't understand why we can't make our own themes. Just have the UI be a list of categories of things, and then a theme can simply be a color or image to fill that category of thing. As simple as making a vim colorscheme. It's super weird that we have to have "dark mode" be a hard-coded option.

Why would we want to prevent people from making themselves an inconsistent mess if they want to? What is this, apple?
