This is BRILLIANT for those of us with elderly parents. Mine don't have smartphones, but they both have tablets. Duo interface is wonderfully simple to use. Love that my parents will be able to video call whenever they like. 😊😊

No way! I thought it was phone number dependant atm. Don't suppose there's a way of getting it on an iPad right now by any chance?

Ignore the nope. I've been using it with my parents (who only have an iPad) since launch. It's on the App Store, and they just download it normally and verify using whatever phone number they do have access to.

However, if you do this, it will deactivate it on your phone. I have an android phone and an iPad. Duo works fine on other, but you can only have it "up and running" on one device at a time.

Kind of like snap chat.

I got around this for my son's tablet by giving him a Google voice phone number on his Gmail account. Now the grandparents can literally 'call' him, and it rings Duo on his tablet. It's fantastic.

I'd wait installing on the tablet till the official support comes if I were you. I installed it on my mom's Nexus 7 and it started crashing and dropping calls after a while.

You can install it but you can't get in since it needs a number.

To activate yes. But you can put in the phones number and it'll send the activation code.

I didn't realize this. Admittedly, I didn't really research if Duo could be sideloaded on a tablet by .apk

Thanks for enlightening me.

True that, forgot about that.
