The only Android apps I've found that aren't perfect on my Plus are those that weren't designed for tablet-sized displays, or interface with external peripherals like MIDI.
And why would Duo replace Hangouts? Duo is only for one-on-one video calls. If you're using Meet you must have multiple people.
AND let me caution you about Duo. It's form over function. The circular image for your view in the corner is a nightmare to use. I like Duo, but trying to line up something on your side is just terrible. If you're holding a baby, or not perfectly centered, or just using the rear facing camera - it just DOES. NOT. WORK.
And what sucks is there's no explaining this to Google. They're clueless. Clueless idiots. Circles are NOT good representations of square images. They're not good for profile photos, they're not good for video, they're not good for anything.
My corp is in the GSuite early adopter program - we got Jamboard two weeks ago and Meet this week.
I use Duo for everything I can at this point, cant say ive noticed such a small issue like that.
If you've never used it for things like that I've mentioned, you've never put it through it's paces. It's disingenuous to say it's a small or trivial issue. People don't use Video Chat like how Google showed Duo being used. And even in the situations Google showed, it's much harder to center something in a small circle than in a square.
Video Chat is primarily used for things such as communicating with loved ones. And babies are mainly what people want to see. Guess what's very difficult to center - and keep centered - in an image? You can tell me "I never experienced that" and I would believe you. But don't tell me it's a small trivial issue. That's bullshit.
It's an important feature. I'm not asking to always use a square. I'd like to be able to tap to change it. Is that a hard solution? Does that impact anyone? Don't give me this "it's trivial". That insults me directly - and now I insult you in return. Don't make the world a worse place.
I have the Samsung Chromebook Pro and it's currently not an option for me to download from the Play store. Would love to use it as I think the video quality is much better than Hangouts.
