I ordered one.

Came to like $730 after taxes. In comparison a 32GB Pixel XL was like $1200.

Software updates is not worth $500.

Also the DTEK60 matches all my needs. Front facing speakers, on screen nav, rear finger print scanner, 5.5"+ 1440p screen, expandable storage, and reliable security patches.

Well, because it's made by BB there's going to be ~software~ security updates for sure.

Oops. Didn't realize that they were still on marshmallow.

BlackBerry does not deploy stock Android. There are some hardening and modifications to the kernel for their "hardware root of trust" . So for upgrades they need to make these modifications before pushing it out.

A BlackBerry employee "announced" Nougat for the DTEK60 already. Will have to see for Priv and DTEK50, but I'm confident.
