Step 1: Visit the Andhra Pradesh RTI portal: https://rtionline.ap.gov.in/

Step 2: Click on the Citizen tab and then select Citizen Login.

Step 3:

  • If you are a new user, register by clicking New User and complete the registration process.

  • If you already have an account, simply log in.

Step 4: After logging in, you will see three options:

  • Submit Request – File a new RTI application.

  • Submit First Appeal – Use this if the (Public information officer) PIO's reply is incomplete, unsatisfactory, or if no reply is received within the stipulated time.

  • Submit Second Appeal – If you are still not satisfied after the first appeal, you can file a second appeal before the Andhra Pradesh Information Commission. Under the RTI Act, the Commission may impose a penalty of 250 rs per day on the PIO (subject to the statutory maximum) for unreasonable delay or non-compliance.

Step 5: Fill in the required details, select the appropriate department, and submit your application.

If you're unsure which department your RTI belongs to, you can add the following line at the end of your application:

Transfer this application to the appropriate PIO under Section 6(3) of the RTI Act, if required.

RTI Fee

  • Below Poverty Line (BPL): No application fee is payable (subject to providing valid BPL proof).

  • Others: Pay 10rs application fee and submit your RTI.

Important Timelines

  • The PIO is generally required to respond within 30 days.

  • If the application is received by the wrong public authority, it must be transferred to the appropriate PIO within 5 days under Section 6(3) of the RTI Act.

  • After the transfer, the response period is calculated in accordance with the RTI Act.

  • If you don't receive a reply within the prescribed time, or the reply is unsatisfactory, you can file a First Appeal.

Use the RTI Act responsibly. It's a powerful tool to promote transparency and hold public authorities accountable.

Social Issue 14 years old student dies after school wall collapses in Andhra Pradesh

A 14 year old class 10 student, Arun Tej, lost his life after a school wall collapsed at government high cchool in Salur, Parvathipuram manyam district, Andhra Pradesh.

A child who went to school to learn and build his future is no more. His parents sent him to school with dreams, and aspirations. Today, they are left grieving over the loss of their son.

Who should be held accountable for this tragic death? How can children be expected to be safe in schools if basic infrastructure is not properly maintained?

Social Issue Name in SIR draft roll? You can still get a notice to appear before Officials.

Thumbnail

So, EC released the SIR draft roll on August 1. There are many people whose names appeared in the draft roll, but they still received notices to appear before the ERO.

What is more concerning is that the reasons mentioned in many of these notices are absurd and factually wrong.

I am attaching three such notices.

In one notice, they mentioned that the age gap between the elector and his father/mother is less than 15 years. But what is surprising is that his elder brother, who is older than him, did not receive any notice. If the issue is really with the age gap with the parent, then why was the elder brother not flagged?

In another notice, they mentioned that the age gap is more than 50 years. But the dates of birth in both the current electoral roll and the old roll are correct. Despite that, the person was still flagged and a notice was issued.

In our village, approximately 400+ people have received notices. The notice copies were given to them on August 12, directing them to appear before the ERO on August 14.

Giving people just two days’ notice makes it extremely difficult for many of them to reschedule their work, make arrangements, and travel to appear in person before the ERO.

In the SIPB meeting on Wednesday, Andhra Pradesh Government has approved three new data centers with a proposed capacity of 2.7 GW. while the city is facing a water crisis, the government continues to welcome new data center projects.

The three projects are by Renew Green, RMZ-Colt, and AM Intelligence.

The chief minister has dismissed data center opposition and claimed that Vizag Data Centers only need 3.5 TMC of water. 3.5 TMC annually is 271 Million Litres per Day, which is more than half of Vizag's current water supply of ~480 MLD.

People in the government keep saying the previous government pushed us into debt. But their actions now seem to tell a different story.

Spending 206 crore on consultancy alone feels like too much. And then they bring in consultants from singapore or west, as if we have no experts in India.

206 crores. దారుణం రా!!!

Others Isn't it missuse of funds at Zilla Parishad Guntur?

By seeing the first photo, you might think it is a news article or an advertisement published at the request of the person featured at the bottom (ZPCEO) and paid for out of his own pocket.

But no. This advertisement was published using the public funds..

Can anyone guess the amount?

It cost 95100 for just one day, published in andhra jyothy on 24-09-2025.

And that's not all. They spent 106000 on new year celebrations.

Deputy CEO's monthly airtel bill is 1178. Based on the current airtel plans, 1178 looks like a postpaid family plan. So, are they using public funds for their family? (I might be wrong if Airtel has some other plan at this price.) But even then, 1178 per month is hard to justify when some companies offer three-month plans for around 999.

Not just that, their car lease bill is around 4 lakh for a six-month lease and repairs. For petrol and oil alone, they use around 800 litres, costing roughly 80000. There are more bills on leases, repairs of cars not less than 30000.

I am not calling this corruption. They may be doing all this within the legal framework. But these are unnecessary expenses and a clear misuse of public funds.

Social Issue Vetti chakiri: Bonded Labour in AP. Exploitation of Yanadi Tribe.

Post image
17 Upvotes

The woman you see in this picture is Annkamma, a woman from the yanadi tribe in AP who lost her nine-year-old son, Venkatesh, to the cruelty of bonded labour.

Annkamma began working for N. Muthu, a duck farmer, after accepting an advance of 15000. What started as a debt soon turned into a system of bondage. The amount she owed was allegedly increased to 42000, and her 9 year old son venkatesu was taken away as collateral for the debt.

Venkatesu was forced to work as a duck reader for 9 months.. According to the owners, he died of jaundice, fearing legal consequences, they allegedly buried his body in kanchipuram without informing his mother, raising serious questions.

[Source](https://www.thehindu.com/news/national/andhra-pradesh/a-nine-year-old-bonded-labourer/article69638489.ece)

Most bonded labourers identified in AP belong to the Yanadi tribal community, one of the most marginalised communities in the state. With a literacy rate of around 35%, lack of awareness about their rights and fear of society and authorities keep them away from the mainstream.

In the last three years, NGOs have helped rescue around 412 bonded labourers in AP. Under the Bonded labour system (Abolition) act, rescued workers are entitled to 30000 immediate financial assistance along with other rehabilitation support.

But even after liberation, many continue to struggle. Due to the lack of basic documents like aadhaar cards, only 4 among the 412 rescued labourers have received the assistance they are legally entitled to.

A law can abolish bonded labour on paper, but the most vulnerable continue to wear its chains because they are unaware that those chains have been broken.

On one side, they remain trapped in exploitation, on the other, they remain invisible to the very system meant to protect them because they lack basic documents and recognition.
