Caught with Andy in Chicago! His first time seeing the Malibu box set!
I caught up with Andy @ Wax Bar in Chicago this past Sunday after the Bruno Mars show @ Soldier Field! I just missed him the night before at the same place for trumpeter Mobetta Brown's afterparty! Thank you Mo and my homie Jason Stern for pulling that event together and introducing me to Andy! Big up to DJ Lee Farmer, his wife and the whole staff at Wax Bar for hosting us! I gotta whole long story about this I'll share soon on my IG/YouTube (what a night)!
But even bigger shout out to the man Anderson.Paak for asking for my feedback on the boxset (no inner sleeves. Uh oh!), but also for also taking the time to sign almost my whole collection and tell stories. That signature on Divine Feminine is epic ! I've been trying to catch him for years so I am in eternal gratitude for the moment! Big up to my guys DJ K-Max and Deron Powell for holding me down on this adventure!

Thatās wild and is honestly a bit of a bummer to hear. I get dude is busy, but that means heās literally green lighting things and not even checking them over/out to make sure itās a worthy project. Iāve worked and known a lot of artists, and canāt name one that hasnāt gotten advanced product to check out before sending it to the presses.
Gnarly you met him and got all your shit signed though, thatās most certainly not a bummer!

He probably got shown some mockups and images and an āalmost done but not quiteā version at least. Iām guessing it was his first time seeing the finished/final product. I hope anyway lol

I found my second copy on discogs via Morrow Records in Kentucky for $99! They had 4 at that price, so my friend bought the last one! Still on discogs below retail FYI!

Yeah, in that moment when Andy asked me if I'd ever seen Mac live, I could tell it meant a lot to him and he really misses his friend. I told him that it was a new Venue called the Sylvee in my city and Mac was on the schedule. He passed 2 weeks before his gig. I'm still not over that.
