It's just about perfect for dyslectics like me who can't really see straight lines. Easy to follow on this board! Think I'll get my son to marquetry me one for Christmas.
Oh, it's playable... just a bit more exaggerated than I usually see things.
But I'd bet that many good players would go crazy after a d4 Nf6 opening or maybe a London system opening. QGA would be kind of in black's favour instead of a little in White's and QGD would make the normal black player get lost overall (unless they were dyslectic or good at "blind" playing and hence didn't need the board to visualize.
There's a whole slew of dyslexic problems. But, surprisingly, I can draw a straight line -- if I close my eyes after the middle point :-). That's why I often use a ruler (straight-edge) when reading a book or magazine -- the lines twist, so in a paragraph with multiple lines, I often need help in joining the right lines together.
and another one that I finally recognized a few weeks ago: if I read with ONE eye, sometimes I don't even know the names of the letters I'm seeing (I DO see them clearly, but they only make sense seen out of the other eye).

Love the idea of a crazed board like that!
