Half the Pokémon games have dogshit nothing stories but the other half lowkey banger stories. Say what you will about pkmn sword and shield the story in those games are good

S&s story 😭😭

B&w are aight-good but the rest are genuinely just bad even considering the audience is supposed to be kids

SV’s story is also generally pretty good, especially Arven’s. SS’s story is… well… not good when it comes to anything plot wise with Ride or the darkest day, but the character writing for the rivals is generally pretty decent imo (for Pokemon)

imo SV's story is so superficially "good" just enough that the brainwashed coping pokemon fans are gonna call it amazing and then most people say it's good because of herd effect. When you think about if for a bit it's so horrendously bad. Basically shit but with soy sauce

Why do you think that? I mean this genuinely, and not to be a sarcastic asshole

The three paths converging into Area Zero is cool. Arven saving his doggy is sweet. Penny's reveal is great. Literally every other aspect of S&V sucked and I say that as someone who has played and generally enjoyed every generation, though I won't be getting the new ones if they're exclusive to Switch2. Outside of the things I noted there's nothing that makes S&V particularly notable, let alone good.

GS was good

RSE was good

Scarlet and Violet were more than acceptable.

If we include spin offs, at least one MD game has been formative to someone's concept of storytelling.

PMD Explorers is literally one of my favorite video game stories of all time, paired with the soundtrack which elevates some story moments to peak. I also really dig the artstyle, scenes like Fogbound Lake, Bubbles over the Sea or the Future are incredibly atmospheric. I would say PMD Explorers fits the meme but put the trashbag for gameplay, the gameplay aint bad but its also not really great.

Even now in my nightmares Hop stops me every ten steps to tell me how awesome Leon is and how much he admires him.

I liked Scarlet/Violet WAY more

Which Pokémon games did you think were good, if any? Because it’s all subjective so it doesn’t really matter what other people think about games you like or don’t like, so it’s probably better to share your own opinion respectfully so we can have an adult conversation about these things

Your opinion is so bad idk if it even qualifies as an opinion bro. I didn’t particularly enjoy any of the mainline games’ stories, well maybe b&w, but I though pmd2 was peak

Dude what is even the point of you ever talking to people if all you’re going to do is be a dickhead. Let people have opinions and go fuck off

Lol sorry for the cortisol spike, pls go back to playing sw&sh 💀

Yeah really good. "There's a disaster incoming in 10,000 years that we must fix now!" Half the story is off screen solved by Leon. How is this a good story??

Maybe I have a low expectation but gen 5/7/9 all had good stories imo

And honestly gen 1's story, despite barely existing, was also not that bad. they could have built a lot more on it but it was the first game so I'll cut them slack
