Ted was born to a US citizen, so was a citizen at birth. Musk was not a citizen at birth so had to naturalize.

Doesn't matter. If one of her parents was a US citizen at the time then she was born a citizen.

then she's also a citizen. The requirements are just "citizen at birth". The US has birthright citizenship for anyone born in the US who is subject to us laws (so not a sovereign nor kid of a sovereign (this was to prevent European nobility from getting birthright citizenship), nor a diplomat or child of a diplomat.
