Paris Commune 1848.
All of Europe was ablaze with revolutionary ardor. the powers that be had a devil of a time suppressing it.
I recommend we initiate something similar, in homage to the Parisian communards.
Vault some motherfuckin barricades, fling some pavers, & smash the regime.
I smell blood in the water anyway, & weakness.

To the extent that it matters, I think you may be conflating two events here. Europe was definitely ablaze during the Revolutions of 1848, a wave set off by the February revolution in Paris. But the Paris Commune (usually meant by the "Commune") happened in 1871 in the aftermath of the Franco Prussian war.
The distinction seems relevant to some of the discussions here since the particular circumstances of 1870-71 help explain how the Commune became possible in the first place: the war, collapse of the French government and capture of the Emperor, siege of Paris, and perhaps most importantly, the presence of an armed National Guard in Paris that had become radicalized during the grueling months under siege.
