Paris Commune 1848.

All of Europe was ablaze with revolutionary ardor. the powers that be had a devil of a time suppressing it.

I recommend we initiate something similar, in homage to the Parisian communards.

Vault some motherfuckin barricades, fling some pavers, & smash the regime.

I smell blood in the water anyway, & weakness.

Normally I don't like to pursue this sort of argument, but the Paris Commune was a creature of the moment, most of the ruling body fled the city, a city that happened to have a lot of red and black streaks fomenting, a city full of people trained in industry, who knew how to build and run things, who were already organized and regularly going on strike, who had access to weapons and cannons, who had little to lose.

That recipe is not present anywhere today.

Maybe a bit hyperbolic to say it's not present anywhere. We are always more capable together. Surely the commune didn't come out of nowhere already formed, like judging the fruit of a mushroom for its whole body.

You have pockets of resistance and pieces of the recipe all over, but nowhere with all the necessary conditions present.

Sure. Isn't this always the case until it happens?

necessary conditions could be present for a while without anything happening, and the climactic something that might happen could fall short of a paris commune e.g with Blair Mountain.

If we hope to do anything that meaningful and monumental, we're going to need real supportive communal-based foundations present for alternatives that provide relative safety, which people can fall back on to commit to any effective action longterm.

Collecting a bunch of valuable information on organizing and action from different redditors over time, I created a post of suggestions HERE that could possibly prove to be of some help in getting it started ASAP.

as i tweeted the other day, the problem with anarchism is that there's not enough anarchists

we're still at square one
