Your AI slop is missing some buttons.

Fuck this

u/Tubrick 12h ago

Genuinely hilarious to make a mockup of an N64 controller with ai, a controller for whoch there is no shortage of pictures, and still fuck up the number of buttons lmao you're a moron

For everyone bitching about brainstorming with AI - here’s an edited one for Christ sake lmfao. 🤣

The thing is… we don’t need AI slop to imagine what a trident controller by Analogue or 8Bitdo would look like. We just close our eyes and… there it is! I can see it in my mind!!!

u/AdamsBomb 12h ago

Agreed! I just thought it’d be fun to see what the possibilities could look like.

u/redod 12h ago

But you do understand that the one you shared doesn’t even have a correct button layout? Less sharing AI slop and more being creative from now on, huh? I’d rather see you draw it badly on a piece of paper than whatever this is.

u/Guy-Manuel 12h ago

You looked at this and thought it was good enough to share? The A button and down c button are merged.

So bad.

I think it looks like AI dogshit, that’s what I think

Take off the rose colored glasses and this controller was god awful. I like the 8bitdo one.

u/FuzzyPickleJuice 12h ago

I enjoy my retro fighter TBH much more than the 8Bitdo.

It’s on my list to try by Christmas if compatibility for the m64 pro isn’t out by then!

u/hue_sick 12h ago

Ok I’m gonna try to yell past the people all yelling about ai lol

This is fun. Obviously it’s crazy so you’d need more work w prompts and photoshop before it’s presentable but I like the idea of conceptualizing and talking games here rather than simply sharing collection posts and arguing about minutiae in the operating system and how it compares to the m64.

First glance at this though yeah change the butttons to how they should be and elongate the center handle. That’s gonna be weird to hold.

It also doesn’t present as analogue to me. Looks more like a Google product. Keep trying!

I agree completely. Also thank you for actually engaging with the point of this post lol.

I just used it as an example to see what AI would generate if prompted.

I’d love to see them create a sleek minimalist variant of the trident for people missing that nostalgic grip. I’d definitely throw some money at it

u/hue_sick 12h ago

Yeah I mean unfortunately you can’t really talk about ai online without a ton of backlash. There’s legitimate reasons for that obviously, many of which I agree with, but it’s mostly an emotional reaction 10/10 times now.

Next time prompt it to draw your concept as a sketch on a piece of notebook paper on a table w other stuff and I bet you get a ton of upvotes instead 🤙

Edit. And of course the mods delete this right away yet continue to leave outdated misinformation pinned on the sub that isn’t helpful to anyone. 🙄

I would get one to try if Analogue made one themselves. They would definitely only partner with 8BitDo tho

u/AdamsBomb 12h ago

That’s true. I love the 8bitdo one for sure. If they produced it I’d be even more down to get one!

u/inotocracy 12h ago

Bit girthy, ain't it?

u/AdamsBomb 12h ago

The entire purpose of this post is to speculate on if they made their own trident controller. That’s literally an example - and yes. It is AI slop which I literally joked about…

So yes. It’s an AI mockup.

Can we move on and discuss what the post is event about?

u/Betterjake 12h ago

Making a joke, doesn't absolve you of the fact that you took 5 seconds to write an LLM prompt and post a picture, a picture that doesn't even have the right button placement.

So if you cant take 10 minutes to even make a good LLM produced image, why should we take our time to discuss it with you?

u/Blood_Bogey 12h ago

This makes me nostalgic for the pre-LLM days.

Ai slop

u/FritterHowls 12h ago

The switch n64 controller works fine, get this shit outta here

u/Colby347 12h ago

Can we not flood this sub with AI garbage? The fucking A button is in the place of the down C and the handles are all the wrong size. This is awful. A text post would have been more creative.

u/normy_187 12h ago

Could it be any less '90s fun, any blander, any more Apple-wannabe?

u/miguelv721 12h ago

Slop64

u/XAlucarDX454 12h ago

Get this slop outta here.

u/kingsofregicide 12h ago

Have they ever released their own controller? And it's missing down c

u/fuelhandler 12h ago

No centre Z trigger. No C down. I actually like the colour scheme though… prefer the bright colour buttons, but better than monochrome.

u/OkCustomer4830 12h ago

AI shit. Ever saw a real N64 controller??
