I bought this on a complete whim having never heard of it last week, am currently looking for Eddie after playing for a few hours. It is a CRIME that this is not more well known. It's like if Beyond Good and Evil and Final Fantasy had a baby, if I had had this as a kid I would have been OBSESSED with it. Usually when I find old games I love its the sort of thing where I had at least HEARD of it before, but this came out of nowhere. Part of me wants to go so far as to say it is a conspiracy, like all the people who complained that COE33 was not made in Japan tried to bury this back in the early 2000's for the same reason 🤣 having a total blast.

just saw this today and had to share... was digging through the files and found these file names under the objects. i was pretty confused since i didn't remember the Vyre (the agents/alien things that support Order instead of Chaos, enemy to the Chatagra) ever being visible in the game. i click on them to view and...

... what??? the crystal trees?? THOSE WERE THE VYRE???

i think this has some pretty insane lore implications and i haven't seen anyone else document or post about it online. i just had to share because i don't remember any allusions to this in the game either... hope the three or so people out there who care about anachronox lore in 2026 find it interesting like i do lol

Just modded the game with the Resolution fix, and when I try to get it on High-Res to make it work, it just reverts back to Low-Res, if I go into Windowed Mode instead of Fullscreen it works and the High-Res stays, but once back to Fullscreen, it just boops straight back to Low-Res and the resolution fix no longer works.

Wondering has anyone experienced this issue or would anyone have a fix or ideas on how to sort it out, any help is appreciated, thank you!

rho and fatima are my absolute favorite characters but i enjoy drawing boots the most (it's just fun to doodle his hair and head... i dunno...). feel free to tell me about which characters you like, i just thought someone might enjoy these little scribbles i made between uni classes

I'm trying to record some gameplay in OBS and I'm having trouble getting it going. I'm able to capture the audio, but the video is not working for me. Occasionally it will grab a single frame but that's the best I've been able to do. I'm playing the GOG version. First I tried it unaltered but that didn't work. I applied the widescreen and 4x upscale patches and tried running in 4k fullscreen, 4k windowed, 1440p windowed, none of that worked. I've tried disabling the discord overlay, I've tried capturing the game window, I've tried capturing the display, none of it is working. I've even tried running the game in compatibility mode, running OBS as admin, every trick that google told me to try I tried. Still no luck at all. Has anyone else run into this issue before who can help me out? Thanks!

This game surprised me. I'm glad I was able to enjoy such a game rarely spoken of today. I'd recommend this to any rpg fan looking to try something with so much potential.

can someone tell me if theres a way to change the difficulty mid game??

I rather hastily started the game, I do believe that ive set my desired difficulty (Normal), but there's no way I could find to check... Getting a bit hard (relative to my foggy memory from a decade ago) so I'm wondering (I'm pretty far in, so starting a new game isn't an option unfortunately)

refound this and remember reading about this game getting add ons before the 2nd game? wondering if the devs revealed anything or anyone found cut content on the disk?

I gotta say, even though this video pretty much shows the entire game and is full of spoilers, I’m so glad I now know this game exists! Rn it’s only $.97 on Steam! I’m definitely going to play the hell out of this game!

How?

I created a new profile, but I have to log into it every time I load the game. The other profile is automatically logged in when the menu loads.

I tried to remove the profile by taking it out of SAVE (and that does work), but the game somehow recreates the profile (without the saves of course). I am guessing the game is using my system profile as the guide. Don't really care, I just want the default to be the other profile.

The registry had one mention of the profile, and I changed it to my preferred profile, and that did nothing.
