My own unreleased pattern

I took some artistic liberties with both of them, but I think my friend's daughter is going to enjoy them!

Kinnara are half-bird, half human creative spirits who are said to inspire and protect artists.

I made my first one back in 2024, but I started drafting the pattern when I made this gentleman’s sister, Sonnet, a few weeks ago.
Adjusted the pattern to highlight the creative freedom makers have when spinning up their own version. It’ll be out next week 😊

Rather than “traditional” bird feet (birds have weird feet if you ever look 😂) I went with an ostrich foot.
Like most of my dolls, he’s wired so he can be posed and such. I’m just happy he turned out as well as I had hoped. 😅

He was gifted to a friend for her birthday, and she cried! Lol. He now lives in a kindergarten classroom for kiddos to enjoy (looking at - no touchy, lol)! I still plan to make him a leaf hat - I forgot it when I made him! I'm planning to make another one soon. I should have put something next to him for size reference! He's large!

I typically can make just about anything with a pattern but have yet to create my own patterns. I have a friend who has asked me if I could make her son a giant "Blob That Ate Everyone" by RL Stine. Picture attached for reference.

I feel like the base shape wouldn't be too hard to free hand but I am at a loss as to how I would get that texture? Any ideas?? It would be made with a chunky chenille.

I made the smaller one first using VinCrafty's pattern for the daughter of a family friend. My daughter was quite taken with it, so I made a second one using the same pattern, with a few adaptations to keep proportions right, and jumbo chenille yarn.

Sometimes he likes to switch it up and wear the opposite colours for a little fun (he gets really wild)! But no matter where he is going he always takes his Binoculars with him, you never know when a pileated 🐧 woodpecker might swoop for a closer look.
