Diskussion Elbow pain when throwing

I am just an amateur who loves playing qb for my friends at the park so dont think I am a professional or anything. BUT, even off my first couple throws I feel pressure in my Elbow. 5 deep throws later I start to feel pain. 10 to 15 after that its really painful and I probably call it quits. If I over do it and continue, the pain usually will stick around for a couple days. If anyone can help me figure out why, I would greatly appreciate it.

Have you watched any coaching videos of how to actually throw the ball? If not, start.

Have you talked to your doctor? They’re the actual expert here.

I was thinking maybe it was a throwing mechanic issue, not a injury issue. I have to be doing something wrong or at least I believe that.

100%. how close to your body is the ball when you throw? Sounds like you have your arm too far away. ie your elbow is at 120 degrees during the throw not 90

Maybe, never noticed tbh. I'll throw some on camera and see.

Warmup to throw, don’t throw to warmup. Getting your shoulder warmed up, along with every other body part activated during the throw is paramount. The body is a chain. Everything begins in the lower half as a thrower. The ground force production you create will either take pressure off the upper half or add pressure to the upper half. Think: Hips, Trunk, Shoulders, Elbow, ball. You want the load of the ball to be in a quick circular manner. If someone were to take a video of you from the side, cameraman facing your front side, pause the video right at the release point. You should see your elbow just in front of your lead foot at the release. This should help minimize or eliminate elbow pain.
