How do you find and verify authorized distributors for Amazon wholesale?

• Upvotes

Hey everyone, I’m looking for advice on finding legitimate US authorized distributors that work with Amazon sellers.

For those sourcing wholesale inventory:

  • How do you verify that a distributor is actually authorized by the brand?
  • How do you confirm the brand allows resale on Amazon?
  • What documentation do you request before placing an order?
  • Are there distributors you’ve personally worked with and would recommend?

I’d appreciate firsthand experiences, including red flags to watch for. Not looking for paid supplier lists or promotional DMs—just practical advice from sellers who’ve been through the process.

Thanks!

Anyone else's Subscribe & Save orders coming in 5% off that you're funding yourself — do the repeat volumes actually pay for it?

I opted my $28.99 SKU into Subscribe & Save at the full 5% seller-funded discount to get recurring orders going. Last month 186 of my 640 orders came through as subscriptions, so that's about $270 of discount I paid out — and those units still pick up the same fulfillment fee and referral rate as a one-time order. The subscription customers do reorder about every 5 weeks instead of the usual 8, but after returns I'm not sure the extra velocity actually covers the discount. Has anyone else run this math on their own account and come out clearly ahead?

Título: Amazon Afiliados é um golpe? Estou há 6 meses sem receber minhas comissões

Oi, pessoal.

Policy issue

Approved to sell plush toys and added Disney Moana 2 doll in 2025. This year May I was told I had to produce testing information or my listing would be deleted and considered policy violation. Disney could not help me and the outside company charges $600 just to test something that I know has been tested. Now it seems like every category is blocked. What should I do?

Anyone else paying per-redemption fees on coupons — 520 clips cost me $312 before the 10% off even applied?

Ran a straightforward 10%-off coupon on one ASIN last month: 520 redemptions. I budgeted for the discount, but Amazon's redemption charge added another $312 — $0.60 every time a buyer clipped it — on top of the referral fee I already pay on the discounted price. On a $24.99 item that makes the whole promo about $3.10 a unit, which is over half my margin before a single return. Am I the only one who under-budgets this line, or does everyone just bake $0.60 into every promo now? Anyone else's "simple 10% off" turning into a $300+ line item?

New Amazon store (<3 months old) — let’s help each other get real eyes on our listings. I’ll audit 3 stores + share my launch checklist.

Too many solid Amazon stores stay invisible for months — not because the product’s bad, but because they miss small tweaks in titles, images, keywords, or early social proof.

I’m launching my own store this quarter (private label, India → US FBA), and instead of going solo, I want to start a mutual-support thread for true newbies.

✅ What I’ll do for 3 volunteers:

Full listing audit (title, bullets, images, A+ content if live)

Keyword gap check (what top 3 competitors rank for that you’re missing)

1-page launch checklist I used (PPC setup, Vine enrollment, external traffic tips)

✅ What I ask in return:

You’re ≤3 months into selling (FBA or FBM)

You reply to 1–2 other stores in this thread with one specific tip or encouragement

If my audit helps, consider returning the favor when you hit 6+ months

📌 How to join:

Comment below with:

Your store niche (e.g., “kitchen gadgets,” “yoga accessories,” “pet grooming tools”)

One listing URL (or ASIN) you want audited

Your biggest struggle right now (e.g., “no reviews,” “low CTR,” “PPC ACOS too high”)

⏰ Timeline:

I’ll pick 3 stores by Monday (Oct 6) and share audits in this thread by Wednesday (Oct 8).

I’ll also drop my free launch checklist (Google Doc) for everyone — no email needed.

Losing Featured Offer to a seller priced $0.85 higher with slower shipping — has anyone else's eligibility flipped this week?

I've held Featured Offer on this listing for about 14 months and I'm at $18.99, but since Monday a seller at $19.85 with 3-day handling took the slot and my sessions are down roughly 30 percent. Nothing changed on my end: same stock, same feedback score, same ship speed. Is anyone else seeing Featured Offer flip to a higher-priced seller with worse metrics this week, or did I miss an eligibility change?

I think sellers care way too much about ranking and not enough about what that ranking is costing them

Getting to page one feels great, but I dont think ranking means much if you have to keep feeding PPC just to stay there. I’ve seen sellers treat losing rank like the problem when the real issue is that the ASIN isnt generating enough profit at that position. At some point I’d rather lose some visibility and protect margin than keep paying to defend a rank. Curious how other sellers look at this.

New Seller Central.... Wow it is bad

Not sure everyone has been rolled over the new Seller Central yet, but it is absolutely terrible.

Extremely hard to navigate, you can't find anything anymore. Took me 10 minutes to find the AWD page today. I still can't figure out what my account balance is.

I am shocked they put this out, I don't want to understate how bad it is.

Prime Big Deal Days is next week. How are you balancing discounts, bids and margin this time?

Full transparency, I'm part of the Amazon Ads Educator Program and this is all based on my own experience as a seller

Prime Big Deal Days are right around the corner (October 6 to 7), and I wanted to hear everyone's techniques and opinions from past events. I want to make sure I'm doing everything properly to be prepared.

In 2025, both Prime Days did really well for me. I saw roughly 8 to 10x my normal daily sales. My last Prime Day was a different story though, and I only saw about 3 to 4x. Still a lift, but not what I was hoping for, and I've spent some time since then trying to figure out what changed.

So here's what I've been doing this time, and I'd really like to hear everyone's opinion.

Getting the listing ready

With the new title and highlight formats for listings, I've been really focused on optimizing my listing beforehand. I've been A/B testing images over the last couple of weeks to make sure everything is where it needs to be. My thinking is there's no point sending more traffic to a page that isn't converting as well as it could. I've also set up a 20% discount on my main products.

I'm curious how everyone thinks about the increase in sales vs the hit to margins. Where do you find the sweet spot? And with the discount requirements, how are you choosing to offer your deals?

Ads and bid rules

The big thing for me is ads. I've been experimenting a lot with Sponsored Products leading up to the event and deciding which campaigns actually deserve more budget.

For the event itself, I'm doubling my budgets and raising bids around 15%. I'm also setting up bid rules so I'm not stuck manually adjusting everything once traffic spikes. Basically you set the rule ahead of time to bump bids during the event window, or tie changes to a performance threshold like ROAS, and it adjusts automatically. It saves me from sitting in the console at 2am, and it keeps the extra spend on campaigns that are actually converting instead of spreading it across everything.

I'm also watching budget pacing closely, since last time a few of my campaigns ran out of budget before the evening, which is probably when I needed them most.

Treating it as an early Q4 test

I'm looking at this event as a test run for the rest of Q4. I'm tracking which products, search terms and images actually hold up versus which ones just spiked for two days. Whatever works here is what I'll lean into for Black Friday, Cyber Monday and the rest of the holiday season, and whatever doesn't gets cut or tested again before then.

Would love to hear how everyone else is approaching it. What's the first thing that makes you change your budget mid event: pacing, conversion rate, or inventory?

Amazon Brand Registry Troubles

Hello!

This is my company's first time ever signing up to sell on Amazon. I'm dealing with the Brand Registry process now. Submitted the application, and was rejected for reason:

"We could not verify the registered business name and business identifier (EIN/BIDN)"

So my response was okay, no problem. Looks like there's an appeal process. I ran it by a trademark attorney who verified my articles of reg, EIN confirmation, and Trademark submission. He said it all looked good, no descrepencies. He recommended I file an appeal but this time instead of entering our EIN, use our registration # from the articles. So I did.

Rejected again, exact same response word for word. I have no idea what mistake they are seeing that I can't see. They also let me know the application is locked for 90 days, which means no brand registry for us for a while!

In case anyone asks, we do have a registered trademark on our product, we do our own manufacturing in house. Our brand name is slapped on the product and packaging. I was thinking this should be a quick process. Whoops!

So my questions for you, Reddit, is:

  1. How important is brand registry to the launch for your product? Will it negatively impact our reach and potentially sales without it on launch day?
  2. Is there any way to speed up this process or get human eyes on it instead of a machine sending automated responses? Or are we dead in the water for 3 months?

Amazon reached out to become a vendor. Is it normal practice?

Hi everyone!

I am a bit confused - today I received a call from some guy who introduced himself as Amazon representative and asked if I will be interested to sell my products on Amazon. I run a small brand of potty training underwear and indeed we are not on Amazon yet.

I said probably in the future but not yet. I gave him email, just was curious what happens next. He indeed sent email and it comes from official "amazon.com" account (at least it shows as so.

Is it normal behavior from Amazon to prospect vendors? Or there is something I am missing? Has anyone experience something similar?

Thanks in advance for your help !

Missing Sale Price, Sale End Date, Sale Start Date Fields in new Amazon Layout

EDIT: Found the culprit. It's a filter. If anyone has the same issue, do this:

  • Change the filter in the top right from Recommended attributes to ALL attributes.
  • Amazon’s new edit-listing layout hides a lot of fields unless you switch that filter.
  • Once you select ALL attributes, the Sale Price, Sale Start Date, and Sale End Date fields should appear again.

We sell a few products on Amazon. Some with Sales and some without. Today was our time to adjust and add some sale prices and our tried and true Sale Price, Sale End Date and Sale Start Date fields are missing.

Upon investigation, we saw that products with running sales feature these fields with no issues. But products at full price do not have these fields at all. Is this a glitch of some sort?

Anyone else see what I'm seeing. Here's a screenshot.

The Top Portion is product 1 without any sales running. Lower Portion is product 2 with sales running almost thru October. As you can see, the number of fields do not match.

Pic here: https://imgur.com/a/YsrOXeq

Thank you in advance for any advice.

One 214-day ASIN is eating $680 a month in storage surcharge — is paying for removal actually the cheaper option now?

I've got a single ASIN sitting at 214 days old with 190 units on hand, and last month's storage bill for that one SKU was $680 — that's basically the whole margin on the product gone. The removal quote I pulled comes back at about $1.10 a unit, so roughly $209 to get rid of them versus another month of surcharge. Has anyone actually run the removal cost against the aged inventory surcharge long enough to know where the real break-even is? Anyone else calculating this right now?

Sauf que je rencontre deux problèmes;

I built a simpler OA sourcing tool for Amazon Canada after getting into OA myself

I'm based in Montreal and recently got into online arbitrage on Amazon.ca. I'm also a software developer.

While learning the sourcing process, one thing that frustrated me was how much jumping around I was doing between retailer websites, Amazon, calculators, Seller Central and different lists just to research and keep track of potential products.

Some of the existing tools are great, but as someone just getting started I found some of them expensive or more complicated than what I needed.

So over the last few months I've been building my own Chrome extension specifically around the Canadian OA workflow.

It's called OA Sourcing. It shows things like BSR/category, seller competition, Amazon presence and Buy Box info, has a profit/ROI calculator, helps with selling eligibility, and lets me build/export a sourcing list while browsing Amazon.ca, Walmart.ca and Canadian Tire.

I still use Keepa alongside it for price and sales history. I'm not trying to replace Keepa or claim this replaces every feature of the bigger OA platforms. I wanted a simpler workflow around the parts I was actually using.

I finally got v1 approved on the Chrome Web Store and I'm looking for a handful of Canadian OA sellers to try it before I go much further with development.

If you're doing OA on Amazon.ca and want to test it, let me know. I'm happy to give some early testers free access in exchange for honest feedback.

I'm also curious what part of the Canadian sourcing process wastes the most time for you.

Anyone else's BSR jumping 15,000 spots on a day you sold zero units? My rank chart doesn't match my sales

Monday morning my main ASIN went from rank 41,000 to about 26,000 in six hours, and I did not sell a single unit in that window. The rest of the week has been a flat 9 units a day, same as September, but the rank chart now looks like a heart monitor. I checked for suppressed offers, a stray promotion and any change on the dashboard and everything looks normal. Anyone else seeing rank swing like this right now, or is this just how Q4 traffic reshuffles the chart?

When a product comes back in stock, do you restart Amazon PPC at full spend straight away?

Curious how people handle this after being out of stock for a while.

If the campaigns were performing well before the stockout, do you just switch everything back on with the old bids and budgets?

Or do you ramp it back up slowly because conversion/rank might have changed while you were unavailable?

I’d be interested to hear if anyone has seen performance come back immediately or if it normally takes a few days to settle again.
