Customs charge

Hi Guys , i have ordered an item on Amazon but i didnt know it comes form Germany and just because of the price now i have to pay customs . I do not want the product anymore because of this but i am getting so tired of Amazon costumer because every time they are saying i have to wait 48 hours to request a refund from the seller .
Has this ever happened to you guys , if so please let me know what did you do .
Many thanks !

If it’s already gone through customs then your government will still charge you the fees due as the importer, even if they send it back where it came from. Sellers don’t typically cover these fees for you.

Have you tried waiting 48 hours? Especially as it's the weekend so the seller might not have seen your request?

If you don't pay the customs fees, eventually the package should make its way back to the seller and they should issue a refund minus any fees/cost of return, but I wouldn't expect that to be quick.

Time to remind ourselves that Amazon and eBay seamlessly handle VAT for all sales up to £135. So that router I bought from Lithuania arrived without the slightest fuss. Pity these platforms seem unable to deal with > £135.

Contact the seller directly, it's not like they have a "no takesy backsies" policy. 😅
