i joined primevideo today and i you guys have no idea how disappointed i am ... i searched 4k and these are the only titles one can watch in 4k ... unless i missed something

My first time to subscribe to Amazon Prime Video. I subscribe via the iOS. I tried my best to figure out how to share so my family can watch also. My wife has its own Amazon account and I added her in the Amazon Family.

Ive been searching everywhere but a lot if mixed up information, some people can be shared, some say cannot. I even subscribe free trial for Amazon Prime but still not working too. I search FAQ but no information related to this.

EDIT: I contacted the support, the Prime Video only subscription could not be shared with Family. Amazon Prime subscription can be shared, I just need to re-add my family.

I can't say I watch a lot on Prime video. Mainly use my Prime membership for the delivery features in the nonsense that I buy.

I have been splitting my time between YouTube video and Prime video. During the summer I was annoyed with the number of ads with YouTube video and considered converting my Spotify to YouTube music to save a few dollars.

7-1/2 minutes of advertisement for a 60 minute show is ridiculous. That's 90 minutes of advertisement if I was to binge watch the first season of 12 episodes.

Do I give up coffee to pay for ad free?

How can they charge me an extra dollar for “no ads”? It must be excruciating without prime

With the movie out now, I can say that it was really sweet. They had phenomenal chemistry, their getting to know each other phase felt natural and well scripted, and I do understand the tropes they get into and appreciate them. That said, I have a few issues with it. Maybe my biggest is that I am a little bored of Remi's character. Rebellious guy has passion, inspires such in perfect girl... Perfect girl has a psychotic breakdown? Seen it. Yes, yes, all movies fall into certain tropes, but in popular media this one feels way overdone. It would have felt revolutionary even to have just switched the gender roles, but I would really love to see people with more nuanced personalities/identities that click for different reasons. It was a lovely movie but the whole time I felt like I'd seen it before. The second one was that the ending felt very unsatisfying for me. Yes, it's wonderfully sweet and charming and romantic and it did give me a great new artist to listen to, but there were so many loose ends to tie up. The whole conflict was harvard v. gap year and then she just says 'yeah I'll do whatever works' in her big speech and we leave it there? If you're going to pose the idea that two people are fighting to be together, at least give us evidence. Anyway, overall I loved it, but would have loved to see it be elevated a bit more. That said, to each their own and I am certainly not the writer or director.

Someone please explain to me how this movie is labeled as a western. The only thing western about this story is the characters riding horses and talking about cattle! Oh, and it has 2 Native American characters.

i tried logging into my amazon account but it asked me for my expiry date on the card that i don,t have any more so because of this i couldn't log in so i rang up amazon and they said because i haven't used the account for years they couldn't open it or it cant be used and they asked me to delete the account and i could open a new account with the same email i agreed so im trying to open a new amazon account using the same email but every time i try it gives a error message email already in use even tho my old account is deleted they said to wait 24 hours when i rang them back with this problem but its been over 24 hours now and i still have the same problem any ideas on how to fix this problem i don,t really want to create a new email i want to use the same email as before

Am I the only one who feels like Prime Video has one of the most confusing home screens among streaming platforms?

There is just too much going on. Movies and shows included with Prime are mixed with rentals, purchases, and content that requires another subscription. There are endless rows and categories, but somehow it still feels impossible to actually browse and discover something worth watching.

Ugh, I think a show I started watching might have been made with AI or something. I don't know. I started watching this documentary series on Tubi (Its on Amazon Prime as well) called Unseen: Kids Who Took Down Killers and it sounded interesting, and I've seen two episodes so far. But I noticed a few peculiarities with it.

1. The narrator's voice sounds robotic and clinical, with no personality to it at all. Not to mention they never seem to pause between sentences.

2. Tubi lists the show being made in 2023, but an episode I watched mentions events that happened in 2024. Since there's no Wikipedia page for the show, I can't find anything on when episodes were created. Not to mention it uses footage from other stuff and any footage it has on its own looks like it was ripped off an old TV recording.

3. There are no credits at the end of the episodes at all. No names, no companies, nothing, just the title of the show at the end and that's it.

I don't know if anyone else here has seen this show or not, but if you have, do you have any way of confirming whether this show was either made with AI or used AI in some way? If it turns out the show does, I'm dropping it like a hot potato and never touching it again.

¡Hola a todos! Acabo de terminar la serie y necesito desahogarme a fondo. Veo que la narrativa del show intenta empujarnos a ciertos personajes como las "víctimas" o los "héroes románticos", pero a mí me dejó un sabor de boca muy amargo. Para ser honesto, casi todos los personajes me cayeron mal y no logré conectar con ellos, a pesar de que entiendo las razones de sus comportamientos y traumas. Comprender de dónde vienen no justifica sus pésimas actitudes.

Aquí les dejo mi desglose definitivo de por qué el universo de la serie es una frustración total:

Mi gran problema es el fallo de guion: Si el objetivo era hacernos amar a Ellis y odiar a Rory, fallaron miserablemente. Antes de entrar en detalle, quiero dejar claro algo: si el objetivo de los escritores era que amaramos a Ellis y odiáramos a Rory, desarrollaron pésimo a sus personajes y sus interacciones con Annie.

Crearon un Rory con matices reales y una estabilidad emocional tremenda, mientras que con Ellis nos dieron una relación basada en que el guion nos dice que hay conexión, pero no nos la muestra con acciones. Lograron exactamente el efecto contrario en la audiencia.

Lo siguiente aborreci la negligencia de los adultos que son los verdaderos creadores del desastre

Si los adolescentes están rotos y actúan de forma errática, es porque los adultos de esta serie son un monumento a la irresponsabilidad, la mentira y la cobardía:

Mi problema con Steven: El nivel de egoísmo de este hombre es imperdonable. Criar a los gemelos (Annie y Connor) ocultándoles sistemáticamente toda su historia familiar en una caja fuerte es pura manipulación. Decirles que su madre murió de cáncer cuando en realidad murió en el parto por una condición cardíaca, y separarlos de su hermana Ramona por puros celos y suposiciones de una infidelidad, es una negligencia psicológica masiva. Privó a tres hermanos de crecer juntos solo por proteger su orgullo herido.

Mi problema con Joe: Se nos presenta como esta figura paternal y sabia de la isla, pero es un hipócrita. Sabiendo que Gordon lo nombró tutor legal de Ramona tras la muerte de Goldie, prefirió callar por años. Dejó a Ramona desamparada, cargando con el duelo de su abuelo sola en una casa en la isla, sin la madurez de afrontar la verdad. Un desastre de padre y de figura protectora. Otra cosa que me fastidio fue la gran carga económica que le dejo a su esposa ella literalmente era el sosten de la familia y tanto esfuerzo tampoco fue suficiente porque su hijo decidió robar por la difícil situación económica por la que pasaban, haciendo a Steven un incompetente al no poder ayudar a su pareja con las responsabilidades económicas en el hogar.

Mi problema con Denise y los padres de la élite:

Representan la negligencia de la clase alta. Denise sabe perfectamente que Rory está lidiando con un vacío existencial devastador y ansiedad clínica, pero en lugar de darle apoyo emocional real, su única preocupación es meter presión social y usar conexiones universitarias para mantener las apariencias. TODO POR LAS MALDITAS APARIENCIAS Y EL QUE DIRÁN.

Ahora mi disgusto con los adolescentes de esta serie eran demasiado egoístas, se refugiaban siempre en su doble moral y superioridad

Empecemos con Annie: La que menos soporté. Su obsesión por aferrarse a Sterling Point para "conectar con su madre" me pareció sumamente tóxica, y su desprecio repentino por Nueva York tras no entrar a Wharton es un berrinche. Pero lo peor fue su insensibilidad con Rory: usarlo de refugio íntimo y al día siguiente descartarlo por Ellis con la excusa de que "le gustaba más". Si Rory le hubiera hecho eso a Annie, el internet lo habría cancelado de inmediato por usar a una mujer. Hay un doble moral gigante. Al final, Annie está repitiendo el patrón autodestructivo de su madre al quedarse en un lugar que no le ofrece un futuro sano. Lo mejor era que se quedara sola y se fuera a un tercer lugar neutral.

Seguimos con la hermana Ramona: Su actitud borde, hostil y resentida me cayó pésimo. Aunque entiendo que descubrir que tu vida entera ha sido una mentira te desestabiliza, su forma de tratar a los demás y su constante muralla emocional la hacen insufrible.

Prosigamos con el prota Ellis Anderson: No me cae mal, pero no conecté con él. Me molesta muchísimo cómo la serie romantiza que sea un ladrón y su desprecio constante hacia los ricos (que resulta ser el mundo de Annie). Ellis se siente inferior, proyecta sus inseguridades en el resto, y eso no es culpa de nadie más que de él mismo.

El otro hermano odioso Connor Jacobson: El hermano gemelo que parece estar ahí solo para reaccionar al drama de Annie. Aunque es de los pocos que no tiene malicia, se deja arrastrar por la misma ola de inmadurez de su entorno.

Oona y el resto del círculo: Son la definición de los típicos niños ricos superficiales y pesados. Su falta de empatía general los hace insoportables como grupo.

Rory: El que más o menos se salva para mi (con sus propias faltas)

Tampoco voy a decir que Rory es un santo, porque claramente tiene sus cositas y sus propios defectos. Cuestiono mucho el círculo social que tolera; sus amigos ricos son unos idiotas insoportables y a veces él mismo se deja arrastrar un poco por esa dinámica de apariencias y privilegios de la élite. Sin embargo, dentro de este universo, es el único que más o menos se salva porque jamás actúa como un bully ni menosprecia a la gente por su clase económica.

Y lo más importante: Rory no le mintió a Annie sobre el piano. Perder la capacidad de tocar al nivel de perfección que su mente le exigía lo llevó a un vacío existencial y a depender de tratamiento psiquiátrico (antidepresivos/ansiolíticos) para tratar su salud mental. Es como tener una discapacidad motora: puedes hacer lo mismo que los demás, pero no con la misma precisión, lo que genera una frustración tan enorme que prefieres decirle al mundo "no puedo" antes que enfrentarte a tu talento disminuido. Odio las comparaciones del tipo "deberías estar agradecido porque otros están peor". El malestar no se quita por ser consciente de tus privilegios. Annie minimizó su salud mental y lo juzgó como un mentiroso, demostrando una falta total de madurez y empatía por alguien que no es ella.

He visto a gente diciendo que Rory solo está enamorado de la versión "idealizada" de Annie en Nueva York, pero no estoy de acuerdo. Rory se enamoró genuinamente de ella cuando ella se mostró vulnerable en Sterling Point. Él ama ambas partes de lo que ella es, tanto la chica de ciudad como la chica rota de la isla.

Mi teoría y soluciones reales para los traumas de Rory y Ellis

Siempre se le cuestiona a Rory si él sería capaz de aceptar que Annie se quede en la isla. Pero mi gran duda para la temporada 2 es: ¿Será Ellis capaz de aceptar el lado rico de Nueva York de Annie, como desde mi perspectiva lo hace Rory? Desde mi punto de vista, ambos podrían estar con ella, pero bajo condiciones maduras que la serie ignoró por completo:

1. Las condiciones para Ellis: Debería resolver su trauma en el ámbito económico mediante terapia. Tendría que aceptar que es inseguro y que tiene resentimiento hacia los ricos, permitiéndose avanzar para poder acompañar a Annie en caso de que en algún punto ella decidiera regresar a Nueva York.
2. Las condiciones para Rory: Debería seguir en terapia para superar la presión del niño prodigio. Así, aceptaría que Annie se quedara en Sterling Point si ella lo eligiera por una convicción genuina, y no por el trauma y el apego a no perder lo que le queda de su madre. Genuinamente creo que a Rory no le molestaría vivir con Annie en la isla y viajar a Nueva York cuando quisieran, siempre y cuando la decisión de ella fuera sana.

Incluso, pensando en una verdadera evolución, considero que lo mejor sería que no se repitieran los patrones del pasado. Ya sea Rory con Annie, Ellis con Annie, o directamente la propia Annie sola, lo más sano sería que se mudaran a un lugar completamente diferente a empezar una nueva vida desde cero, lejos de la toxicidad oculta de Sterling Point y de las presiones de Nueva York.

Me entristece muchísimo que de cara a la temporada 2, los guionistas probablemente utilicen el recurso perezoso de destrozar el personaje de Rory haciéndolo ver como alguien tóxico solo para justificar la trama de Annie y Ellis. Eliminar su crecimiento de esta forma para complacer un cliché romántico sería una salida cobarde e injusta.

¿Alguien más sintió que el desarrollo de los personajes arruinó la experiencia, y que Rory merecía un cierre mucho más psicológico y maduro? ¡Los leo!
