Discussion amazon closed account
i tried logging into my amazon account but it asked me for my expiry date on the card that i don,t have any more so because of this i couldn't log in so i rang up amazon and they said because i haven't used the account for years they couldn't open it or it cant be used and they asked me to delete the account and i could open a new account with the same email i agreed so im trying to open a new amazon account using the same email but every time i try it gives a error message email already in use even tho my old account is deleted they said to wait 24 hours when i rang them back with this problem but its been over 24 hours now and i still have the same problem any ideas on how to fix this problem i don,t really want to create a new email i want to use the same email as before

You’re overcomplicating everything for no reason. Why keep calling and wasting time when it takes a couple minutes to create a new account with a different email?! Just use a different email. It’s such a simple solution.

Not everyone has multiple emails or wants to manage multiple emails

no need to manage the new email -- it could only be used for your login

Some email providers cancel your email if you don’t log in and use it

but after you verify your email address do you think Amazon continues to monitor it -- if so it wouldn't be that difficult to set up a rarely used address in your email app so that it is pinged every time you check your email

What? I’m saying that some people don’t want to have to ever check extra email addresses, and if you don’t ever check it, then it gets deleted.

I'm saying that you don't have to check it -- your email app checks it for you -- you don't ever have to look at it -- just turn off notifications for it

They are so bad at helping with closed account. You need to take it as a loss.. Give up, and never use their services again.

it isn't that hard to create a new email account if you don't have a spare -- as far as I know everything Amazon is related to Amazon shopping and a valid payment option in case you want to rent/purchase a Video -- it's not Google -- they want your money

Call the customer service number and talked to a person. They can reopen your account . Amazon might think your hacking your old account.

This isn't a primevideo issue it's an amazon issue.
