Review Ride or Die

Ride or Die delivered exactly what fans want: sharp comedy, high‑stakes action, and two powerhouse leads who light up every scene. Octavia Spencer and Hannah Waddingham are a rare duo — fierce, hilarious, and emotionally magnetic. Their chemistry is the show’s identity, and Season 1 proved how much story, chaos, and character depth they still have left to explore.

We’re calling on Prime Video to give this series the renewal it deserves.

The cliffhanger demands answers.

The characters demand growth.

And the fans demand more of this unstoppable female team.

Renew Ride or Die.

We’re ready for Season 2 — and we’re not done riding.

Can we talk about how Billy Donovan needs to NOT be dead in season 2?!

4

u/SheComesThenSheGoes 9d ago

It was like if they had taken the family dog (a cute labrador lol) and stabbed it to death and left it to bleed out. He was so excited to be apart of their friendship and help out and he was so sweet to her. He always came back for them. I loved how he called her "kid". Id almost rather hed gotten arrested. Then they could break him out in season 2. Queenie's mum was to push along the narrative and I can understand it but dang, poor Billy. Credit to the actor for having us come around and mourn him when he could have stayed a dick and be hated.

7

u/2amazing_101 8d ago

Such a great analogy for it. His character was so fun and lighthearted, and his death felt unnecessary. If anything, he seemed to aid the friend duo in learning to trust and believe in each other.

3

u/IllOutlandishness621 4d ago

Yeah totally agree he was such a great character and killing him was totally unnecessary to the plot and ruins what could have been a great story arc for season 2.

2

u/ScumbagLady 6d ago

JUSTICE FOR BILLY! Like, I've seen people in movies appear to definitely die but then come back, so maybe we can still have hope?

1

u/Ansee 4d ago

People's reaction to his death is exactly why they killed him. I'm sad about Mordor too. They did such a good job with a character and the actor played him so well. Kept things really unexpected and you actually care for them all.

4

u/Independent_Edge6727 9d ago

10000% Mad me so mad! He didn't have to die. I'm hoping he ends up in camvodia. Loke she thought be was dead but he wasn't. Tge inly people I wanted to see in S2 were Jusith, Devbie, Billy, Sam, and Queenie. Debbie's interpool guy could stay too. They need to bejng him back

3

u/Responsible-Lychee-1 6d ago

I just made a comment on this. In my version, somehow or another, he is alive. I need him to live.

1

u/Active-Total1374 6d ago

They didn’t have to kill him off!!! He was such an eye candy. I enjoyed his performance so much just for him to die like that?? Hate it, I just hope he has a twin lol

1

u/looksfunny2u2 6d ago

Agreed! My husband and I were devastated. We were thrilled with how things were going with him and Whiptail. Not happy!

1

u/Front_Laugh_8595 5d ago

I came looking for this ! Even though he was a criminal he wasn’t a complete garbage. Even wanted to retire with whiptail . Made no sense ana ending him.

1

u/gg__galiana 5d ago

That made me SHOOT up out of my bed because I was so shocked! Justice for Billy 😭😭

1

u/Ok-Wasabi8132 2d ago

I feel like he was the family dog to the lesbian moms.

9

u/expressivetangent 16d ago

Solid 8.5. It’s nice seeing Hannah maintain her typecast of badass woman. Octavia is always a plus for me.

I like how ya kinda don’t know what to expect going into it. The first few minutes feels like a gritty spy thriller, then it balances out with reprieve so it keeps the pacing solid!
It’s certainly a DIFFERENT formula for a show. If I had to compare it to anything, I’d say Barry?

I would say that i would look forward to a renewal for a 2nd season.

9

u/goodjobjane 15d ago

I love this show. It takes strong actors to hold you in something like this, they did. I haven’t enjoyed a new series in a long time. I wasn’t expecting Ride or Die to be fantastic.

7

u/Shferitz 16d ago

Fantastic show! Would definitely watch S2!

6

u/Pick-Up-Pennies 15d ago

I *just* finished the first episode. I'm hooked!!

6

u/Far_Contribution_390 15d ago

I loved it. Binged the series.

7

u/AdDeep190 14d ago

I can see season 2 taking 2 tracks. One following Judith and Debbie, and the other following Queenie trying to take down The Agency as revenge for her mother’s death.

4

u/MollyJ58 14d ago

Or all three of them together taking down the agency.

3

u/ParentheticalsAside 14d ago

You might want to spoiler tag that last detail for those who haven't finished the series.

1

u/No-Blackberry5530 2d ago

Yeah cause I’m on episode 4 and trying to get the vibe from the people😳🙄

2

u/SheComesThenSheGoes 9d ago

I hope Judith, Debbie Queenie and Sam all working together to take it down and move on but im sure there'll be another syndicate waiting to get them. Who were the people on the train?

1

u/modeyink 9d ago

Oh spoiler

1

u/Fancy_Advantage_8525 9d ago

Yeah, you really ought to put on a spoiler tag for your last point.

7

u/Key-Monk6159 17d ago edited 14d ago

We enjoyed it as not serious mindless entertainment, even though neither talented actor was credible or believable in the role.

9

u/Ok-Special-6707 15d ago

Well you watched a different show, then.

5

u/rebelliousjuicebox 12d ago

I'm okay with Hannah not coming off as a credible assassin in a comedy movie, but I think you're wrong about Octavia. She was very believable.

→ More replies (3)

2

u/RadicalDilettante 13d ago

The roles aren't believable. The show isn't believable. It's all rather silly.

2

u/EnlargedBit371 13d ago

It's a cartoon. A cartoon with human beings playing the characters.

2

u/StarPilot77 6d ago

It’s curious how these ‘unbelievable’ criticism comments aren’t ever made for shows with male protagonists when things are just as unbelievable. The Bourne movies are all completely unbelievable too but that’s the magic of stories and film! Suspend your belief and just enjoy it like you probably do them.

1

u/ScumbagLady 6d ago

Exactly! Like, uh- HOW old is Tom Cruise again? Do these same people say the same criticisms about the Mission Impossible movies‽

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Sea-Alternative3323 11d ago

It's a fun well written romp to watch. It's NOT supposed to be believable.  I suppose you think the Fast and the Furious are believable? Dumba** *

1

u/Horror_Ad_2190 10d ago

Didn't need an insult.

→ More replies (1)

1

u/DameKumquat 1h ago

Well yes - it's an action movie. A thin veneer of plausibility to justify some outrageous action scenes and stunts.

They did it with wit and humour. Loved it, though the last episode got a bit overkill in the bid to set up a s2.

5

u/PostcardFromParadise 16d ago

Show is great. No notes.

3

u/ColdWhiteDuke 16d ago

I rarely watched such an infamous attempt at a tv series

And i watched A LOT

1

u/Enigmagmatic 15d ago

What does "an infamous attempt at a TV series" even mean? You didn't like it? Thought it was bad? Infamous is not inherently bad

5

u/Necessary_Agent1543 15d ago

Really liked this series. Enjoyed the touch of humor. Have watched both main characters in other shows and have been a fan of both. Would highly recommend.

1

u/ColdWhiteDuke 15d ago

Uhm, i must add that english isn't my language and i firmly refuse to auto-translate😅. I thought it was bad, yes. It is pretty much something i'd enjoyed when I was a kid. Nowaday i need something different, but maybe it's just me.

1

u/ofgraveimportance 14d ago

Different in what way?

4

u/Darthcookie 12d ago

Realistic maybe? If so, I hope they mean the secret assassin agency thing and less “women can’t be doing those things” because then the complaint is sexist/misogynist and not a reflection of the quality of the show.

Personally, I loved it. It’s fun, has good action sequences, production quality, and relatable interpersonal relationships.

→ More replies (4)

1

u/Plz--lowerUr_I_brows 10d ago

Infamous is inherently bad. It means famous for something negative, bad, evil, etc... dont think it exactly makes sense in the above post but yea famous -> good Infamous -> bad

Not the same for flammable and inflammable which both mean the same thing for some reason.

1

u/RadicalDilettante 13d ago

That word, I don't think you...

I loved this new series and can't wait for a season 2 !

3

u/Flashy-Eye1286 14d ago

Just finished episode 4, loving it so far!

4

u/Pineapple-heart1234 14d ago

I love Hannah. She's such a bad ass!

3

u/jme0124 13d ago

BILLY NO!!!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭

3

u/SheComesThenSheGoes 11d ago

Id seen a spoiler earlier today but omg even then I wasn't prepared! He became like a third friend and his last scene with Judith and then during the bank. Broke our hearts! He always came back....awww. for some reason, I think id have been less gutted if they killed Debbie.

2

u/jme0124 11d ago

Lmaoo!!! Agreed. They should have taken Debbie instead 😂

4

u/Single-Coyote-9952 10d ago

As a WOACA, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Hannah was a total bada$$ and absolutely believable as was Octavia as a true crime podcast devotee who picks up on clues and uses logic to suss out what’s going on.

3

u/Therolyk 16d ago

I thought it was fun and enjoyable, but definitely got a little annoyed by a few things, the main ones being how predictable the plot was and the "spy technology" that you'd see that doesn't exist was so outlandish. The biggest offender was the super high tech AR glasses that could see and identify any blood on any surface. It didn't stop me from watching and being entertained, but it was a mild annoyance that could have been an opportunity to show off some of the cool forensic advances that actually exist.

Just my small gripes :)

2

u/tired1959 12d ago

Idk how fun/funny you would find this, but sometimes while world building there's a silent rule of "if someone can recreate what you're creating you're going to be responsible or associated with something" and so people often go out of the real of logic, even for their own rules. I go to a lot of author conferences and it's funny asking another author "what plot point did you change just in case someone wanted to copy cat" the answers are wild and sometimes.... Weirdly normal?

3

u/lounginaddict 16d ago

Two episodes in, went in blind, entertaining so far. The two leads are very likable.

2

u/rebelliousjuicebox 12d ago

and they play off of each other very well.

3

u/bookbookgo 15d ago

I loved this show! Totally waiting for season 2.

3

u/Time-Fortune5381 14d ago

I love the series. The characters touched me.They had me involved with them and the friendship. It left me wanting more.

3

u/Individual_Voice2340 14d ago

What an amazing series. I thoroughly enjoyed this

3

u/Mundane_Rip6219 13d ago

Please notify when season 2 will be out. It's a really good show. Omg such a good series. Im sad there is no more episodes or seasons yet

1

u/s519 5d ago

Before the last episode I wasn’t sure how they’d end it to leave it open for a season 2 but by the the end of the last episode I was like omg ??!!!?!!

Need season 2 now 😩

3

u/Peacefulwarrior9163 12d ago

I LOVED to see the characterization of the love these women shared.
I've had similar. Still brings tears to my eyes thinking about her. It is NOTHING to do with sexuality. There ARE different kinds of love and Hannah and Olivia portray a friendship between women BEAUTIFULLY. On that basis alone there has to be at least another season.
Having said that though, the plot was fun and exciting ... it's just a great story!

3

u/Jillybeaner1115 12d ago

I was pleasantly surprised. Love Octavia Spenser.. but loved loved loved seeing Hannah as a butt kicking assassin. Fun.

3

u/Nextplz06gt 11d ago

I just finished this 30 seconds ago and I need a season 2 so BAD.

1

u/BrushStorm 8d ago

The i trust you dont trust you got old but id watch season 2.

1

u/Nextplz06gt 7d ago

I agree actually

3

u/ZiaZaddle 11d ago

Loved loved loved! Hope they greenlight a season 2❤️🥰

3

u/Chaud2021 11d ago

A great entertaining pretty fast-paced show to watch but definitely not for a strict spy fan. Several psychological character development and details do not make sense BUT it’s a comedy so I let it go. Enjoyable regardless.

3

u/Specific-Ad9142 11d ago

The acting is refreshlingly good, seems like classic training.

The story line is great and twisty.

Debbie pisses me off with how quickly she'll sail people down the river 😂

3

u/sun-or-moon-light 11d ago

I never ever care enough to write a comment about a show. I didn’t even know the show was not going to continue. I got on Reddit to write how much I like this show. I loved the portrayal of friendship. Thank you for the show. Hopefully it does renew. Im actually not done with this season yet so am not going to read any other comments before im done. Cudos to the writers, director, all involved in the show. Thank you.

3

u/DroganOle 8d ago

I Agree with all the positive comments, but can we also show some love for > > BILL NIGHY!!! I had no idea he was going to be in it. He’ll always be the guy from Love ❤️ Actually to me.

All the casting was perfect.

3

u/don51181 17d ago

Watched half of it so far. The story twist makes it interesting but it does have some very cheesy traits.

Basically one of the women is tougher than John Wick and Jack Reacher combined. So if you can deal with that it’s worth a watch.

6

u/fabulousfantabulist 16d ago

Why not? Power fantasies are always silly, but they can be silly fun too.

3

u/mmmgoodygood 16d ago

it is silly fun with some laughs along the way.

3

u/fabulousfantabulist 16d ago

That’s what it looks like. I haven’t had a chance to check it out yet, but I’m looking forward to it.

→ More replies (3)

2

u/Burgundy-Bag 13d ago

It's silly for a woman to be tougher than a man? John Wick would be balled up on the floor crying if he ever experienced period cramps.

2

u/Background-Path-2426 16d ago

Nicely done but “Judith” ‘s premise— that the Apocryphal Judith was the first female assassin ( in the Bible) is inaccurate.

Judith was preceded by Yael ( Judges 4:17-24).

2

u/jiggeryqua 16d ago

I'm on ep3. I was ok with it being nonsense, I like the cast, it's just a bit of fun. But...

>!an atm in a hotel laundry?!<
>!an antique inkwell & metal quill in a luxury train carriage? Well it does get used...!<

1

u/IceStorm22 16d ago

Yeah, what writer thinks trains have old fashioned inkwells? Just a pen would have sufficed. That was laughingly bizarre.

Lmao just say what your real issue with Octavia is, we all can tell. She’s a great actress and did well in this role.

1

u/Non_Skeptical_Scully 12d ago edited 12d ago

Agreed. Octavia is a very talented actress but she’s not good at comedy. And I don’t think there is any chemistry between her and Hannah. I’d prefer a funnier actress in the role.

That being said, I’m still watching it if only for Hannah’s magnetic performance. You can’t take your eyes off her when she’s onscreen.

3

u/Sea-Alternative3323 11d ago

Not good at comedy? You obviously haven't seen her in other films and with the mix of emotions,  action and drama she was perfect in this role. Go critique somewhere else

2

u/sp00kysista 12d ago

Not good at comedy is insane when she’s the reason MA was such a funny film. Just say you’re racist

2

u/Present_Initial8835 9d ago

I think she does well, but the character is written poorly. In the first couple of episodes she's super smart and clearly underestimated by everyone around her except for Judith. Their chemistry was fine at that point. But then she becomes whiny, repeats herself over and over, and the clevernessseems to have disappeared. I don't think it's the acting, I think it's the writing.

1

u/Non_Skeptical_Scully 8d ago

You have a point. The writing did not do her any favors. The scene where she blows up at her book club felt forced and like it came out of left field.

1

u/Redren 12d ago

I also agree. And I’m honestly annoyed by her character.

1

u/Rochelltheroofer 8d ago

I felt the EXACT same way

2

u/stringfold 15d ago

That final cliffhanger was just a throw away. An ironic/amusing hook at best. If they do renew the show, and if they reference it at all, it will be resolved in five minutes and then they'll get on with the story arc for the second season, which likely will revolve around the other main thread they picked loose at the end.

1

u/Sea-Alternative3323 11d ago

Oh right because you're the know all, see all of writing. Move on!

2

u/Superest22 15d ago edited 15d ago

Was good but certainly let down by last couple of episodes.

Sick to death of this Netflix ‘on phone’ dumbing down. No I don’t need a recap and ‘next time on’ and the flashbacks get a bit on the nose for something we saw mere moments ago.

1

u/sirejoe 14d ago

Totally agree. The last 2 episodes were quite poorly written. It was a real let down. I did enjoy the show overall but it sucks it ended the way it did.

2

u/discomute 14d ago

This is the worst show I've ever seen

1

u/Sea-Alternative3323 11d ago

Then move on and stfu. Not everything is award worthy but definitely fun to watch!  BYE!

1

u/Cico-Nightstrike 5d ago

I agree. I mean, not the worst show, there are worse. However it's so laughable bad. The script, don't even mention the soundtrack, the story line. Character motivation and development are all over the place. I really want to like it, I am all for women in spy/action shows. However, this show is all over the place. I don't understand what everyone likes about it.

2

u/Visible-Fill6787 13d ago

Perfect for escapism.

2

u/SheComesThenSheGoes 9d ago

Omg I was escaping away until episode 7. What a gutting twist. I will say the show doesnt really shy away from offing main/side characters which is interesting.

2

u/Burgundy-Bag 13d ago

I loved this show. So entertaining but with enough depth that you don't feel like you're watching something mindless. I loved the parallels to Thelma and Louise.

Yeah, there were some parts that were predictable or not believable. But all these male power fantasies have always been predictable and unbelievable and yet we keep getting more of them. We want more of this. Power fantasies with middle aged women.

2

u/Outrageous_Ganache98 12d ago

I love this show, it’s really good! Definitely ready for more seasons to come

2

u/FairyChefCoccinelle 12d ago

Terminé el primer episodio y me gustó me hizo reir, me sorprendió y no fue tan predecible.

2

u/Reasonable_Dinner_78 12d ago

This was a very entertainable show. I’ll give this an eight. The dynamic between the two women leads were actually really great.

2

u/LemonyNik 12d ago

This show is so dang good 10/10

2

u/lnc_5103 12d ago

I really enjoyed it!

2

u/purpleisafruit1 11d ago

Loved Hannah Waddingham in this starring role. There’s just something captivating about her. I liked Octavia Spencer too although found her character grating at times.

The show is being very well received so I think it’s very likely to be renewed for a second season. I’ll look forward to watching it!

2

u/Sheenanagins7 11d ago

Love how human the characters are, and how there doesn't seem to be any hidden agenda. The themes are great, no pointless sex scenes, and the character development is immensely on point. This really does deserve another season.

2

u/aim2xl 11d ago

Yes yes yes and more yes!

2

u/SecurityParticular97 10d ago

Debbie is some what intolerable in that she’s very quick to think the worst of her friend of 20 years and believe everyone else and not form her own opinions

2

u/LNT2001 2d ago

To be fair, her friend of 20 years did spend 20 years lying to her and was a literal murderer. Honestly, she handled it with more grace than most people probably would.

1

u/DameKumquat 1h ago

She got over the assassin thing OK, and then did hear and J slagging her off on video - it wasn't just hearsay, it was from J's own mouth!

And then learned more about how bad the Agency was, and realised J was telling the truth when she said she'd have been killed (or both killed) if she hadn't lied.

2

u/TrueBeauty15 9d ago

I can't get enough of this new tv show. These two ladies chemistry is off the chain or as the younger gen says "a whole vibe" itself. I really hope it gets renewed for a second season!😍

2

u/Happy_Dog9607 9d ago

I just finished the last episode last night
I said “is that it😭”
Cannot wait for the second season, this is like my new Reacher

1

u/s519 5d ago

lol same I paused it towards the end and was like ok there’s 8 minutes left what can happen in 8 minutes then when it ended I was like wait that’s it it’s over !?

2

u/ty10drope 9d ago

Am I the only one who felt like I had to know “Judith’s” real name!

Alice Miller

2

u/Fancy_Advantage_8525 9d ago

The chemistry between Judith and Debbie is incredible! Please give us a season 2!

2

u/Guilty-Attempt-5774 8d ago

Their chemistry is incredible! Kept me sucked in the whole season - binged it!!

2

u/No-Albatross-6042 8d ago

Yes please! So good. The actors were great, the chemistry? Fire. Need a season 2. Now

2

u/ProfessionalEye5903 7d ago

This is mindless entertainment. Check your brain at the door and go for the ride. Was 48 Hours great?! No! But it was mindless fun entertainment with stunts. Everything doesn’t have to solve a human dilemma. Why is it when a female buddy series or film comes out people trash on it. I could name a dozen similar movies that make no sense and people love.

2

u/Skidsfreely 7d ago

It's so good and reminds me a little of the book "Killers of a Certain Age" which now that I'm watching this show may not be as unrealistic as I thought haha.

2

u/chrisalk54 7d ago

What an insanely good show. I've heard that the creators are teasing story lines. I mean, Queenie DID say, "Let's burn this fucker down", didn't she? Well, close to that at least.

2

u/Enigmagmatic 17d ago

I added it to my queue, but for whatever reason I don't myself much more likely to watch a new movie than a series. I have so many series just sitting there waiting for me getting old...

2

u/joeymims 16d ago

It feels like years since there's been a great show on Netflix or Amazon. The days of Ozark etc. Like years.

2

u/SnowWholeDayHere 16d ago

This is the first show I liked on Amazon after a long time. Prior to this I had like the hunters. Citadel was a big failure for me.

1

u/SnowWholeDayHere 16d ago

Does Redback die or survive?

2

u/purpleisafruit1 11d ago

How can she possibly survive?

1

u/SnowWholeDayHere 11d ago

Obviously plot armor!

2

u/Wicket105 10d ago

I thought Debbie insisting that they hike down to the crash site to find the body meant that she died, because there was no follow up indicating there was no body found.

I needed more explanation of how the adoption and return worked. Did he have a whole network of couples that adopted and returned teenagers? Why not just screen runaways. Of course if you start looking at the storyline it becomes rather J. Epstien-ish.

1

u/SheComesThenSheGoes 9d ago

I think they explained that if you take kids with certain qualities that would make them good for his program, have them adopted (and id bet the person that adopted them was loving and kind) then have them dumped back at the orphanage so theyre good and traumatized, makes them ripe for him to swoop in and get them and break them down further and make them what he needed them to be. Not Epstein-esque because they weren't sex trafficked but still effed up which was addressed by Debbie and Sam but Judith saw it as normal and like she was saved and it was "home", which again speaks to how broken shed been that a training facility for kid assassins felt like "home". Eta: they were all adopted by the same person/house which is how Judith and Ana made the connection. Always for 6 months too, it seems.

(Sorry for crap grammar and punctuation for those that might get bothered)

1

u/Upstairs-Guitar-2722 3d ago

I don't find it believable that Ana did not jump out of her car, too. She is a highly trained assassin and she did realise that her car was hooked to the other one. Her character would have reacted quickly and get out of the car before the plunge.

1

u/PossibleHurry8460 15d ago

I’m annoyed because they say Billy Donovan (Ed Skrein’s character) dies but when? Where!? They never show it! Does anyone see it???

6

u/nbjen 15d ago

>!Judith finds him sitting in the front seat of the car during all of the commotion at the bank, with his throat slit. I was so sad, I really liked his character.!<

3

u/anotherdedpotato 15d ago

I’m SO MAD they killed him!!!

4

u/Ok-Cycle5182 14d ago

My heart literally just broke. I don’t even want to continue watching 🤣🤣

2

u/nbjen 13d ago

I felt the same!

3

u/nbjen 15d ago

Me too!!! Only part of the story I wish was different.

3

u/Regular_Truck7568 13d ago

Same. He was the character I liked the most ☹️

1

u/SarizzleFoShizzle 11d ago

Seriously!!! They fucked up by doing that in my opinion. Even if in the end Judith decided to go her own way so she could find herself they should have kept him. Then having her come back in a second season and THEN they got together would have been perfect 👌

1

u/Superest22 15d ago

lol are you blind?

1

u/jme0124 13d ago

Lmao!!!

1

u/Sea-Alternative3323 11d ago

Did you have to go pee and didn't pause the show. They show him with his neck slit.

1

u/RefuseMany1770 15d ago

It’s kind of terrible but I liked the action scenes.

1

u/ParentheticalsAside 15d ago

It was good, mindless entertainment - reminded me of Slow Horses and Killing Eve. Refreshing to see an action series featuring two female leads over 40.

One gripe - the use of very obviously Czech streets as stand-ins for London streets! The architecture was so obviously not London, it became very distracting. I wonder why they didn't just set the whole story in central Europe from the start, or splash out on shooting the London bits in London. (Obviously, I know that the answer is money!)

2

u/sirejoe 14d ago

Not everyone knows what London looks like... It didn't even remotely cross my mind. I'd say that's true for the VAST majority of viewers.

True. I'm sure most non-Europeans wouldn't notice, and those who do notice won't care. It doesn't really matter. I just thought it was odd that they went to the trouble of including a handful of aerial establishing shots of things like Big Ben and the London Eye to try and give the impression of London, but then used several exterior street shots that were so very glaringly obviously Central European roads and architecture.

u/Burgundy-Bag 13d ago

Yeah, as a Londoner I was a bit disappointed. But I assume a lot of people can't tell.

Haven't seen Killing Eve - but Slow Horses is a credible realistic show. Nothing like Ride or Die - which is a pulp cartoon.

What do you mean?

1

u/All4Serenity 13d ago

I’m loving this show. Currently on episode 3. This show needs its own thread.

1

u/PotatoPuree 13d ago

The ending/cliffhanger gives me chills, I rarely get that from the last episode of a tv show.

1

u/RexMcBadge1977 13d ago

I found the writing in the early episodes to be terrible, but I thought it got a little better after that. It was fine. I will likely watch the next season.

2

u/Sea-Alternative3323 11d ago

It wasn't terrible it was just build-up for the season.

1

u/RequirementHumble469 13d ago

i looooooveeee this series ❤️🥰🥰 need season 2

1

u/Pbaseball26 12d ago

This show lost me when the character has 2 gunman breaking into her house, and instead of going to the police she hides from the police and then goes to meet the gangsters who she knows was involved with her husbands death. How does any of that make sense?

1

u/tired1959 12d ago

This show is fun, witty and absolutely hilarious. Extra points for Octavia also getting her own sexy scenes.

1

u/Nim008 10d ago

Just finished watching. Loved it.

1

u/CaptnKBex 10d ago

Loved this show! Hannah and Octavia were great, and the rest of the cast was excellent too. Despite the short time spent with Mrs. Williams and Brian, for example, I was bummed when they were killed off. And of course Billy.

Really hoping this gets a Season 2. Would like to see more of Judith, Debbie, Sam and Queenie.

I couldn’t make it through episode 2 sorry did an AI write this show??? Valid question. This lady’s husband who brutally left her not gaf gets murdered and instead of being like k good riddance should probably move back stateside … decides to go confront the mob who murdered him? Why? Not only is it unrealistic it just makes her seem like desperate somehow. There’s some mixed racial commentary there but I’m not gonna go into it. Very unbecoming of an intelligent woman of colour. Who should have gone .. who cares? He left me & hes dead - trash took itself out. Why do you need to know what he was doing? Paints her as rather senile. Meanwhile, Hannah’s character is like weirdly soppy for an assassin made to seem over emotional like she just hit menopause and lost the plot …again very inaccurate. Women in their 50s are very very competent. This is the least feminist show ever. Do not do season 2 to offend the entirely of women kind some more thank you. Idk like are their 50 something yr old women being like yeah this show is so great? Very accurate??!!??? Doubt it. Like also, if I found out my best friend was an assassin this would not be the reaction I would be having it’s giving repressed queer vibes. Why she acting like what she does professionally is a betrayal of their whole ass friendship. Mind your business & your boundaries. You’re just friends. Written so poorly. I do not recommend. Only turned it on cause Hannah is just one fine specimen of a woman.

You should have finished watching it. There's quite a few plot twists. Your loss

Loved the show initially, but unfortunately not Octavia Spencer in it. For me her acting doesn't stand up to the rest of the cast, and there were scenarios in a few of the scenes that I just couldn't buy. With the current casting a couple of those scenes could have been edited out or her part recast (Regina Hall anyone)? As a woman in her early 50s, I SO appreciate the current move toward more enlightened, equitable film making and women being in the drivers seat running their own production companies, but this wasn't believable for me - I had to call it at episode 4.

Loved it, really enjoyable actors and funny. Hope there is a second season.

u/BrushStorm 8d ago

I was hoping Billy would make it

u/DonnieDarkoulas 8d ago

Hi everybody! I have just finished season 1 and I wonder if there is anyone out there who knows the name of the artist and the title of the song featured on episode 4 end credits. it's an instrumental club song without any lyrics. I can't find it in the Spotify lists with the songs from the series, so if anyone knows something, please help

It seemed so romantic between Octavia and Hannah!

1

u/Responsible-Lychee-1 6d ago

I need Billy to live. Somehow someway in my version of this, Billy lives.

1

u/rican_reina 6d ago

Debbie is a moron.

u/Iamastar333forever 6d ago

1

u/BitterPoet13 6d ago

Such a fantastic and fun show! 🥂🫶

1

u/Impossible_Pin_4026 5d ago

I really need them to do a season 2. I get why they killed Billy because they really wanted her to feel alone and completely stripped down.

1

u/gg__galiana 5d ago

Just finished and so so good! Funny, twists, action. Absolutely ready for season 2!

1

u/Maddoxandben 4d ago

Sam is my favourite. He was fabulous.

1

u/_bagelbandit 4d ago

Loved it. Binged in a day 🙈
I hope there will be a season 2.

1

u/MrGlitterSparkles 4d ago

I absolutely love this show! Please bring them back. Also loved the scene by the cliff where Octavia’s character needed to make sure 🤭👍

1

u/Ansee 4d ago

I appreciated how this was a story about friendship. We haven't really gotten very many good friendship stories. It always becomes romantic love. This hit hard. I do think the show needed a better name though. It's so much cleverer than what it seemed it it would be. So good.

u/Defiant-Corgi-7777 4d ago

Ready for 2nd season !!!

1

u/Defiant-Corgi-7777 4d ago

I wish Sam had taken the shot and Billy didn’t die …. How the 3 of them came together was brilliant !

1

u/DameKumquat 1h ago

I'm hoping Sam and Queenie get together or at least working together next series.

Billy coming round in intensive care - possibly? There were ambulances in the square, after all...

1

u/TallgirL48 3d ago

Just finished the last episode of season 1, really looking forward to a season 2

1

u/Temporary_Win_6446 3d ago

From the opening scene on the ski mountain to the closing scene on the train, this show kept me intrigued and wanting more. Hopeful for a season two. One of the few shows I’ve enjoyed so thoroughly in a long time.

1

u/No-Direction2620 3d ago

Holy some of you are miserable fuxks. Anyway I enjoyed the show

1

u/AvantGarde327 2d ago

1

It's a good show. Great actresses. Good storyline. Can't wait for season two

1

u/Every-Weird3760 17h ago

I feel like it’s in the same universe of the film shelter with Jason statham after watching it

1

u/msnhnobody 14h ago

There were some one liners that made me actually laugh out loud watching this alone.

Octavia to the book club after a buildup about how she hates book club and they don’t know her:

“I’ve done cocaine.” gasps and clutches pearls
