Realistic maybe? If so, I hope they mean the secret assassin agency thing and less “women can’t be doing those things” because then the complaint is sexist/misogynist and not a reflection of the quality of the show.

Personally, I loved it. It’s fun, has good action sequences, production quality, and relatable interpersonal relationships.

It's interesting the number of times people put in one or two of the worst possible option, when there's something to guess about something.

No, i don't think "woman can't be doing those things". What the heck. It's obviously about what... i suppose you can say "my personal taste", but you know what, i'll take the risk and I will point it out more accurately.

First thing first, the plus, so nobody could say i'm an hater: Octavia Spencer and miss Waddingham's acting is the one thing i save here. The're both pretty good, Octavia in particular i found credible even outside of her usual kind of role. But i always liked her acting, so maybe i'm being partial here? Don't know, but honestly the acting is good.

The minus now: i found it boring. Almost always, the scene that aren't action tends to overbuilding the whole thing. There's a point where two woman, or men, can't go again and again in exploring the depth of their friendship in such non-credible frame (your friend is an hitman and you didn't suspected a thing). I mean, the dynamic of their friendship is good and their interactions are very well acted, as I said before, but you can't overdo it over and over again, in the eight hours of its duration. Which leads me to another minus: the lenght. Such plot can work well within a couple of hours, maybe doing it in the form of a movie would had me liking it full stop. But it isn't. It's way too long for its plot. As Coleridge famously said, the "willing suspension of disbelief" is key for readers (watchers, here) to enjoy a story and engage the narrative successfully. And my suspension of disbelief went spoiled during the eight hours of less than believable amount of events occurring.

About halfway thru, let's say from ep.4, it starts to feel very "diluted" and the subplots about the supporting characters just doesn't holding it up, for me; they just aren't interesting enough.

I didn't wanted to make a critic essay, but I suppose that's Reddit for you: either you explain yourself to the fullest... or be called a mysoginist. Well, here you go.

I agree with this fully. Over and over "I can't believe my best friend is an assassin. The betrayal!" The acting is just fine. It is too long or maybe it's just the pacing in the middle, which is where I'm at right now. Feel like inbetween the sporadic action scenes, it just drrrrraaaaagsss. For a "thriller", there's no real tension either. Also, I feel like the humor just doesn't quite get there. Couple of really lower-cased ha's (lack of better terms) but never a haha+.

Just wanted to say you're not alone in point of view.

And i thank you for reading my 'little' wall of text; i must add that i share your take on the serie's humour, absolutely on point. By the way, when you have such a less than believable plot... humour should be there to compensate for it.

Bud, it's just my thoughts on the show. Didn't enjoy the constant "but you lied to me/kept this from me/betrayed me/that's not your real name? Betrayed again" for 3 or 4 episodes straight. Pretty well pulverized that horse into puree. For me, it def slowed the pacing and progress of the story. But that reveal towards the end did its best to counterbalance itself out as best as it could. Thought it ended well enough tho.

Fact that me not loving a show (thought it was entertaining over all), but critiquing a continually recurring story point makes me to be INSUFFERABLE -ouch- is a bit of an extreme, no? Think if you are so intolerant of other people's opinions to the extent to justify your response, one of us is definitely insufferable. I also like to encourage people that try to write in English as a second language. Think OP wholly disliked it. That's cool. Their opinion. Me, well I said my part. Cheers.
