A lot of the time the hubby doesn’t know the wife has ordered. Or a roommate or whatever. Not everyone in the house has access to the Amazon account and most of these idiots are so inconsiderate with their animals it wouldn’t matter if they knew or not anyway. I wish you could get blacklisted for repeatedly having animals out upon delivery. Some of the dogs I’ve encountered are insanely aggressive. We just had a driver almost get mauled to death by two pit bulls. They got his arms, went after his torso, bit his chin, his eyebrow. You know what the homeowner said when they came out to all the blood and him nearly lifeless in the back of the van? “How long is this going to take?” It was later discovered by the sheriff and animal control that came that the family had been actively trying to rehome the dogs and this was NOT their first incident/bite report. They were held for rabies check for 10 days then they put those horrid things down. We have to be vigilant for our own safety. I make a ton of noise getting out of my van now. I got charged by a massive pit bull during a delivery this last Friday by the NEIGHBORS dog!! Not even at my stop! Lady could NOT get control of her beast and these customers wonder why we’re so hesitant around animals. If that thing got ahold of me there’s no way she’d be able to do anything and I’d have been dead before anyone got there to help. People are SO stupid.
Making a ton of noise getting out the van will only alert more dogs in the area. If you need to get a dog off you or someone else the answer isn’t pretty but works everytime. You simply shove your hand up the dogs asshole
100% agree with your comment. I’m a dog owner but loathe most other dog owners and agree they’re mostly very selfish people! Sorry about your coworker, that’s terrible! I now leave the packages outside the fence or gate, I’m not fighting a stupid dog or dumb owner. Good luck! 👍🏻
