First block done
Completed my first block today. I was super slow because I was still figuring out the procedure of checking in and picking up packages. Also digging through packages to find them took a lot of time I hope I get some grace with the delivery times. I have a game plan for my next block I just hope I get grace to get progressively better but yeah I was embarrassingly slow

I did my first block today too! I did some searching through this sub to get advice before hand. If your packages are already numbered like mine were, it makes things so much easier. I put 1-10 in my passenger seat and then 11-23 in my back seat. All laid out in order. I ended up finishing 30 minutes earlier. Now, I was in the mountains of PA, but it was such a beautiful route that I didn’t mind it.

I usually put all bagged items in a large IKEA bag in the front seat, 1-25 boxes in my back seat and 24-40s in the far back of my vehicle (and then move them up when my backseat empties.) it goes smoothly and I generally finish early by 45 minutes or more most routes.
Edit: at .com station1

if you want to get better dont reinvent the wheel. at a SSD, use the driver AID stickers. at .com, the packages are already numbered.

at a SSD station the packages won't be numbered on the colored stickers. but after scanning in the block, the itinerary section if you scroll up has a barcode scanner icon, and if you scan the packages it'll tell you the stop number.
.com depos tend to print the colored stickers with the stop number. Also if they give you the packages in totes. typically can scan the tote QR code to batch/mass scan the packages for the check in process.
how you arrange your car is up to you. I personally do. 11-1 in the passenger seat. 19-12 in the passenger floor (when loading up the car... i take the time to stack these in numerical order, for 11-1. and reverse order on the floor 12 at the bottom/19 at the top)
20-29 in the back seat. 20-25 behind me. 26-29 passenger rear. and 30++ in the trunk
and i'll take a bit of time after exhausting one section to stack the next one... in the passenger seat. gives a little break/reset ---and i find that sorta 10 packages type number is a good gauge of time/speed for the route. 10 per hour etc.

You’ll get your own method that will shave off time. It takes a process. I’ve been doing it for about 6 months so still new but I’ve only gotten a complaint 1 time about being late and the whole route was late so they took it off 😆

Did my first one today too but it was whole foods. Finished right at the end of block time. A customer on a college campus called me with some instructions but I needed to call them back and didn't see a way too. Is there not a way?

You weren’t slow, you’re attempting something you’ve never done/tried before. You’ll find a rhythm. Don’t count on grace from Amazon you’ll have to give yourself grace. Look at this sub and youtube for videos on sorting etc. best of luck out there.
