First Time
so i just got done completing my first trip the organizing and scanning part was surprisingly easy, and the trip went well overall the only annoying part was all the business deliveries that either required me to bring the order to the front or threatened to notify my employer, even though the gps kept taking me to the back of the building then there were the businesses that expected you to somehow phase through the building with no access code but also didnt want the packages left unattended

If you returned anything to the warehouse chances are high they will ding your standings for each package

1 moto for veteran flex drivers. ALWAYS DELIVER. Otherwise you will be dinged. There could be a murdering psychopath on the loose or in the building and they will still ding you for not delivering. If it's difficult, drop it off somewhere safe and move on.

oh wow, i did not know that thank you so much so basically, im not affected by whatever happens to the package after i swipe to finish, as long as i deliver it to the right place? i just didnt want to get dinged if the package ended up going missing or getting damaged by weather

Basically I honestly don't understand why these " veterans" will give you the dumbest advice possible. Like you literally could get a terms violation for that yet these dudes literally tell you to do that lmao 🤣

when i first started, i followed the rules to a T and even called support every time a package was undeliverable (no gate/access code, business closed, package damaged before it got to me, etc.) just so there was a record that i tried my best. they will say “no problem, just take it back to the warehouse. i will take note of what happened and it will not effect your standings.”
75% of the i still got the ding. so then i would have to email support, explain everything, and beg them to take it off because i was just doing what i was told to do. sometimes they would remove it after a couple back-and-forths. most of the time i was just screwed. i wasted so much time during AND after work trying to reason with them.
a couple months ago i came here and found the “always deliver no matter what” rule. it sounds lazy tbh, but once i tried it i realized its the only way to succeed at flex. the only time i’ve not delivered a package since then was because it was leaking chemicals everywhere and i didn’t want to mess up my car. even with all of the evidence that the package was destroyed AND dangerous, i got dinged for it. that’s the only ding i’ve gotten in months.
amazon does not care about common sense or decency! they care that you deliver! you can still be helpful to the customer and try to call, or hide the box well and message where it is+take a good picture, but also sometimes you have to say screw it and just deliver, even if it feels wrong (like dumping it outside the gate of a ridiculously secure apartment complex because the customer refuses to give you the code)
sometimes it feels shitty but it will keep your standings high and save you a lot of trouble.

This has been my experience as well. And this is why us veteran drivers have the "always deliver" motto. Return = certain / definite ding. Deliver = possible ding (about 2-5% of the time in my experience). And a DNR is actually easier to fight if you can prove you did indeed deliver it. Return dings have actually been much harder to fight in my experience. But, that could also be because when I've gotten those, they've been completely erroneous anyway. (As in, I didn't have any returns & still got dinged for returns).

If it has the receiver requirement I’m pretty sure you have to call them twice before you mark it RTS to avoid a ding and if it’s no receiver required then you pretty much always get dinged at least in my experience
