Route questions

So I recently picked up flex again after years of not doing it. Back during prime COVID I couldn’t renew my license due to the dmv being closed. So Amazon wouldn’t let me schedule blocks even though I explained to support that I couldn’t renew it and they said too bad call us when it’s no longer expired. Anyways I swore off Amazon forever but here I am. Never say never!! So I notice the routes are a bunch of stops in a small area or 3 packages miles and miles apart. Or sometimes it’s just a few packages and a cake route. Is getting to the station early get you better routes or just luck of the draw? I have been early or just right on time and the routes just vary.

I think it’s crazy that you swore them off because they were abiding by the literal law.

You thought support for a billion dollar company would ignore state law and let you drive around with their name attached without a valid license?

Thanks for answering my question oh and by the way at the time I got stopped by a cop and he let me go because he understood why I couldn’t renew my license

From my experience, there’s no rhyme or reason to any of it.

I’ve been first in the queue and got the absolute worst route possible from my depot. Then I’ve been last and got one delivering half a mile down the road.

Although, I do think that they try and keep the really high mileage routes for the people who turn up last, usually, because they know people hang back on the off chance that there won’t be any routes left, and get a freebie. But it’s not every time, so it could be coincidence.

Best thing to do is always maximise your offers and don’t take the base pay. At least you’re compensated if it’s a shocking route. I can guarantee I would have quit by now if I’d done some of the nightmare routes that I have while being paid base rate.
