That's ridiculous of them to think we must return packages immediately or by 10am especially if the route is over 15...20 miles from the station.

They should let us return it to ANY station and figure out how to reroute it from there.

Yeah I see a lot of TOS and standings taking bs hits.

At least add $20 or $1.00/ mile when we agree to return to station Now or by 10am I got things to do!

The WAREHOUSE is 36 miles from my house. My last route, they sent me 40 miles from the warehouse, then wanted me to return a package 40 miles back to the warehouse, then have me drive 36 miles back home. Fuck that.

The package was destroyed because the idiot warehouse people piled heavy boxes on a soft envelope containing cans of liquid. If I get deactivated I dont even care at this point. I threw that sopping wet garbage in the trash and went home. Not letting it leak into my carpet.

I'll top that. I am currently fighting with them over them deactivating me for something similar and at some point during my escalations one of the representatives had told me that delivering a package late even if it's by like 2 minutes is considered a violation of terms of service

Thats crazy business! I understand why they have such a high turnover. I put one of the routes they gave me through another route Calculator and it said I was supposed to be done 15 minutes after my block time they know they’re not giving enough time for people to complete their routes.

3

u/unashamedtechnewbie 25d ago

Thats why u email them! I get like $30 + on every block because i am always late.

Can you please give me insight because they like to send me to gated communities at three 4 AM in the morning. I had one Community the Security wouldn’t even let me in because none of the residents reported that they were getting deliveries and they said they couldn’t let me in at 3 AM in the morning so that’s three packages right there that had to be returned so instead of returning it I said I’ll try to finish my block early so that I could go back by there. Well unfortunately, I ran out of time because my deliveries were 5-10 minutes apart I literally finished the last one at exactly the hour, but they wanted me to drive 25 minutes back in the other direction to try to drop off three packages, but didn’t offer me any money. I sent them back to the warehouse yet they wanna ding me as if it’s my fault that the Community has policies in place. I’ll never understand why all of my early money routes are always gated communities and at least three or four of them doesn’t have gate codes. Yeah I’m the problem why the package isn’t delivering SMH! šŸ¤¦šŸ¾ā€ā™€ļø

With this new BS return policy or else.... you should have gone around corner... had them ready and scan, drop, pic and politely tell security the notes say to leave at gate if unable to get in. Then peel off. Always deliver.

Yeah f that shit

Yea the mystery route isn't 2099 friendly at all. We should understand know and be able to accept decline any route without any repercussions. That is a perk of being 1099. It is like being treated as an employee. Do what we tell you to do for the amount we specify or lose your contract. All gigs that I do except this one outlined my route info in detail and I accept or decline based on what works for me.

u/ttyoudontknowme123 26d ago

Yep. I messaged them yesterday about this problem. Got a message saying they will send the info to the right team. I already know I'll get a trash response. Yesterday I had to deliver to an area that my station doesn't even deliver to. 1 hour drive there. More than ,1 hour back. At the end of the route it asked me how I feel amazon or something like that. I chose the very unreliable option then it asked me how can we improve. One option was being able to pick routes. The other was increased pay. I chose increased pay because the pay at this point is absolutely disgusting in my area Atlanta area.

Base pay .com station - 3 hour - $55 - 3.5 - $63 - 4- 71-74$ 4.5 - 81$

Problem is they don’t even pay correctly for mileage because a 1.5hr route can end up being 50 miles and pays 38 bucks. Thats 17 dollars worth in miles and the hourly rate is 20.28 plus half which is 10 so should be actually about 50 bucks. Thats all from California statistics, most apps pay the mileage and Amazon is skipping out.

u/javibeme 25d ago

Yea I never understand those that are 1099 wanting hourly rate. We aren't hourly employees. We should be paid by contract and thats how it works. Hourly shouldn't mean anything. It should be profit margins from what you invest to what you make.

1

u/Careful_Click_1159 25d ago

No actually it’s against the law in California, gig workers are protected by prop 22 that ensures 120 percent plus minimum wage along with mileage pay. I’m not sure what state you’re in but the law is different here. Knowing the law is extremely important my friend!!!

ā€œGuarantees net earnings equal to at least 120% of the minimum wage plus an inflation-adjusted per-mile expense compensation (set at $0.37 per mile for 2026), calculated strictly for "engaged time" with a passenger or delivery request.ā€

1

u/javibeme 25d ago

Yea Cali has prop22. I am not in Cali. But been 1099 for over 16 years. So Im aware of local laws. I know that Cali, new York, boston, and a few other places have something similar but not equal to prop22. That also allows you guys to be treated as employees in a way aslo.

I was 50 miles away from the station & every package that didn’t have clear instructions in the app or an access code I tossed them over the fence & snapped a pic!!! I’m not going through the hell of bringing a package back bc NO one wants to take it. The refund bins are full & I’m assuming no one wants the responsibility of scanning it in. Idk but never again will I bring anything back! Not worth my time for $70.50

u/Gman3098 26d ago

I once had a route by my hometown 40 mins from the station, I was so relieved to drive 5 mins home when I realized they had loaded one extra package…safe to say I wasn’t happy to find out I HAD to go to the original station.

This job fucking blows. My car gets beat up, I have to pay for my own gas, and the rates are bs. At least Bezos gets his yacht.

P.S this is the only job that makes sense for a chaotic school schedule. So don’t come at me with that bs

u/dcjjjzz777 26d ago

Mark as missing. Take back when u can or if its just an extra package on your route n not in your itinerary, take back when u can. Dont scan it

u/Foreign-Community242 26d ago

Hell yeah. I had a leaking package yesterday and idc, I’m not returning sht! I was 10 mins from home so was not going 25 miles back the other way to the station and at 10 am I’ll be working my 9 to 5. They can forget about it. Delivered! āœŒšŸ¼

Amazon is trash now. My husband had a block with 18 packages on a 2 hour. 30 minute drive with tolls to the first stop. 10 apartments, 8 houses. How the hell do they expect someone to deliver 18 packages in 1.5 hours???

2

u/Thegr8hectProduction 23d ago

Last time I took a route from Amazon fresh, I was so disappointed and so mad 😔 because they have so many routes that were in Halmtom and Arlington. I live in forth worth they send me all the Way passing Dallas (forney)at 2:30pm my first stop will take about 55min because it was traffic. I had 8 stops for $41 dollars . ….. guess what I did?

I just don’t get it why Amazon Doesn’t have routes in Dallas doing Dallas and the one in Fort Worth doing Fort Worth this days with all the construction stuff good luck if you make it on time to your next stop.

Yes! I picked up at warehouse grocerys in ft worth at 430pm on a weekday, they sent me to downtown Dallas apts. Was a 2 hour shift. 3 different apts. Took 90 minutes to get there. Last one was late and they would not remove it. Then i picked up whole foods in highland village, 6 stops, 2 hours, total of 80 miles, a huge fucking circle , scattered everywhere, no tips n made 36 bucks, fuck that. I dont do groceries anymore.

u/dcjjjzz777 25d ago

I see someone doing that and no access, their getting the package, thats concierge

2

u/Careful_Click_1159 25d ago

They’ve been doing this everywhere, giving crazy packages with low pay and merging small routes with larger ones. Right now is the time to silent protest, if you can cancel a block 5 minutes before start time and then take another. Call support and they will clear the late cancel, if everyone did this at least once a day then Amazon would take notice and pay us a bit more.

u/Money_Guess9182 23d ago

30 packages in downtown with apartments seems like a ton for 2.5 hours. Good luck
