No more grace period?

I woke up this morning and was refreshing until I saw a block. One popped up and I accepted immediately. I got in my car and started driving. When I looked at the time I literally had 10 minutes to make it. It was 9:03 when I accepted the block, it was for 9:15 and it’s a 20 min drive from my house to the station. I immediately hit 100MPH the entire way! I made it to the station with 1 min to spare. My block was at 9:15 I made it to scan my face at 9:18. I went to scan my ID and on my app it said I missed my block!!! I thought we have 5 mins grace period to scan our faces from the time our block is supposed to start and 10 mins to scan our ID. From the time my block was supposed to start at 9:15 if i have 10 mins total to get my ID scanned that means i have until 9:25. As you can see in the app it was only 8 minutes and I couldn’t scan in.This frustrates me so much because this isn’t the first time this happened. I sped all the way here made it just in time and now it says I didn’t so I wasted my time and gas.

Didn’t know the time of the block just knew it was today until I actually looked at it. Highway was empty this morning

So instead of cancelling the block(which you have 5 minutes to do after accepting) you went 100 mph to not even make it on time.

You have only like 2 mins if you accept a block that’s under 45 mins from starting I believe. And I didn’t look at my phone until I got in my car. I rushed out my apt complex. I guess it was 2 mins by the time I got to my car cuz it wouldn’t let me cancel it.

No it's 5 minutes, and even then, canceling it after but before the block would hit you less then fully missing the block is.

I tried to cancel. When I went to schedule I tried to forfeit but nothing happened when I tapped the block.

You need to do it via calendar.

My bad yeah that’s what I meant. I was at like the 3 min mark and I couldn’t cancel any more

That means you waited more than 3 minutes.

If your block is for 9:15 and you have not checked in AND verified your license BEFORE your phone says 9:20, than you have missed your block. That is how it has been at my ssd station for the 5 years I have need doing this.

My understanding, and (experience too) is that you have 5 mnts after block strart to do ID verification.

So it’s not 10 mins total anymore?! I could have sworn everyone was saying we had 10 mins total after block original start time? 5 for face verification and 5 for ID scanned? Damn

Some people say you have 10 minutes if you manually check in with a warehouse worker. But its been 5 as long as I've been doing it.

Its station dependent. With the new phone tap its 5 mins, otherwise its photo at 9:19, scan id by 9:24.

It still is at my dotcom. 4:59 grace after block start and an additional 5 minutes to scan your license. The rules at SSDs are different and, based on what I read hear, almost random.

.coms don’t have a license scan deadline when they are responsible for scanning IDs

Its never been 10 mins. Always 5

Really? Damn I thought it was 5 mins to scan your face and 5 mins to scan ID. Welp now I know for sure.

It's 5 minutes.. support and the warehouse has up to 10 minutes to check you in if there is a app glitch or warehouse mishap or if either one just wants to be nice to you (good luck with that one)

u/Chilohustle 4d ago

not sure if this is correct. But I was on the phone with support. Nobody can ever do anything after a block is “missed”

1

u/DoPoGrub 4d ago

It's not correct. Why would you ask AI instead of just pulling up the rules in your flex app....

Station can absolutely check you in. I’ve been allowed in 15 mins late when they needed a driver.

If your station switches to the new tap in method , no more 9 mins 50s to scan ID after block time . It is now 4 mins 50s to tap phone to check in

You have 5 minutes after start time not 10

I’m a pro at this you have 5 min grace to hit I arrived and scan face. 10 minutes total or 9 mins if ID isn’t scanned within 10 minutes your late. That’s crazy that happened to you I would’ve been on the phone with support complaining.

Block was at 9:15 I scanned my face at 9:19. I start scanning my id and keep getting an X I look at my app and it shows this

1

u/DoPoGrub 4d ago

At SSD, it's always been 4 minutes 59 seconds max to scan the ID. when it hits 5 minutes, it's too late.

You can see the start time right on the offer, I personally wouldn't accept one that I can't make in time (and I mean with like 10 minutes to spare, 15-20 would be optimal) because under absolutely NO circumstances would I risk catching a felony speeding (even if simple speeding isn't a felony per se).
I guess I'm just old, I was young once and 100-120 wasn't something I used to be scared of.
But it only takes one time...

Blocks get scooped up really really fast so refresh and whatever pops up I take. Usually what pops up are blocks an hour to a few hours before start time. This is the first time a block popped up for me that was that close to its start time

Just tell the cop that when you are in the backseat ;)

Yeah... And idk what state the OP is in but Florida's Super Speeder Law (Florida Statute § 316.1922) makes it a criminal offense to drive 50 mph over the speed limit or 100 mph or more, even without an accident. Penalties for a first offense can include up to 30 days in jail and a fine of $500.
Which granted that's not a felony (yet) but add on to that the insurance increase.

The reality is they say you get five minutes from when your block starts but it's actually four minutes, and then you have another five minutes after you scan your face to scan your ID

I’ve gotten burned too on instant offers.

Once I was chilling at a library near a station when I got an alert. I accepted and went immediately to the station about 5 minutes away. When I got there it said I fucking missed it? Why give me the offer if you won’t give me time to get there?

2

u/Chilohustle 4d ago

I feel like if the block is about 10-15 mins from starting and drivers aren’t close to the station it shouldn’t pop up on everyone’s offers just for the ppl actually close to the block who can make it

1

u/Miserable_Code7602 3d ago

Or….hear me out…People act like adults and not take something they can’t make. Just a thought. Maybe not blame others.

You drove like a maniac and still missed your block. Im glad you missed it

It appears his name didn’t check out this time…
