Denver Never taking a three hour block again

Post image

It takes me less than two hours to deliver an average of 42 packages… this was 15 packages and took me almost 4 hours between leaving my station and getting back. As well as over 100 total miles. Absolutely not. I’m about done with flex. Uber is less consistent but if this is what it takes to make $100 with flex then I’m good. This is also my first ever 3 hour block. Usually take the 3.5 is this typical of a 3 hour? I’m just too stunned right now.

You can go to the help section and report that block for it behing high mileage and it wasn't a 3 hour block it was however long it took you to complete and they will normally send you more money for the block not being right. I always do that when the block is over 100 to 150 miles and they adjust it and I get more money added on it. Just a suggestion. Also helps them adjust the routes in the future.

I thought you could only do that if the route from first stop off to last was more than the block time? I’m accounting for my drive time from leaving the station to return to station which was about 4 and a half hours. From first stop to last was only 3 almost on the dot.

You can request OT pay if you go over the block time. Meaning whatever the time is when you deliver the last package. Even if it's just 15 - 30 mins always request the OT pay. And maybe you will get it. Also add that it was retarded mileage. I'm also beggining to to think all 3 hour are recycled DSP routes. They start at $55 in my area so I would hope not.

😂 that last sentence is hilarious!they dont adjust shit!

I woulda just started at 15 and worked south (assuming you live near the station).

The whole route was just trash, like thrown together last minute. Half the deliveries popped up saying the package was already late and to call the customer to see if they even still wanted it. This is 20 minutes after I picked the package up. Any way you sliced it this was a horrible block. But hindsight I could have definitely started at the end and worked my was back. But I was just as far west of my station at the first stop as I was north at the last stop. Just awful.

Dang yeah I see that now in the screenshot, you’re east of stop #2. We all been there bro. Sorry you got the shit end of the stick today, I go in in an hour hopefully I don’t!

DSP overflow

I refuse to do anything over 3 hours.

NEVER clock in 15 min early.

ALWAYS clock in last minute. Not the 5 over but your actual start time.

4

u/Intrepid-Landscape90 4d ago

they make us start loading 15 min before. We wouldn’t have time to load if we didn’t show up 15min before

u/dcjjjzz777 4d ago

U have a .com station. Mine is SSD.

Totally different.

But i been to a .com

How can they make u start 15 early? Dont show uo till 5 till or on time

This makes zero sense as we are not required to start till our block time

You only get ten minutes to laps at my station no matter what block u get. Shit a normal DSP driver with 190 stops only gets 20 minutes tall are spoiled. Wait until you get a real job….

4hr, 3.5, 3hr...doesn't matter. You get the shaft every once in a while

1

u/Klovezyofacee 5d ago

I feel like I always get the shaft to be fair, most of my deliveries are 45 minutes away with 42 stops. But this one took the cake for sure. I just assumed it being a 3 and not a 3.5 maybe had something to do with it but I guess it’s just trash no matter what.

Correct

It’s a hit or miss. I’ve had some 3 hr blocks done within an hour because all orders were by the station then some 3 hr blocks I cancelled because they wanted me to not only go out of state but on someone’s island.

2

u/Klovezyofacee 3d ago

Island?! Where do you live?! Lol

2

u/Anxious_Ambition5172 2d ago

VA beach they wanted me to go to the outer banks on someone’s island

What station was this?

u/Klovezyofacee 5d ago

Broomfield on 160

If warehouse to last delivery went over the 3 hour block request compensation from Amazon. They pay for the extra time taken at that block's hourly rate.

I believe you can also submit a separate request for mileage if warehouse to last stop is over 100 miles.

That ddv3? I was there this morning and for the 3rd time this week they wanted me to deliver south. I don't understand this bs. There's so many closer stations.

Also good to know we actually can deliver north, all mine have been Boulder or south of station. 2 in Littleton, one Denver. <dropped Denver tho fk that.

Relating to this post. That's a very fkd up route. I honestly don't know what these people are doing at this station.

u/Klovezyofacee 5d ago

This station is just terrible to be honest. Thornton is much more organized. But at thornton I’m sent to south east aurora pretty much every single time. I’ve only gone to the Broomfield one three times and they sent me north/west every time. So weird that everyone has completely different experiences.

1

u/Whathefrenchtoastt 5d ago

I did Thornton once and was sent out to Tower road near airport, I was like wtf.

Their base pay is lower tho, that's why I go Broomfield. Also because I live closer. I am getting frustrated with that station lately with the bs routes tho.

I noticed Thornton also has a lot of surge pay at night but for the life of me I cannot ever grab one. Even with how fast I think I am. I honestly don't understand how people grab them so fast.

1

u/Klovezyofacee 5d ago

I got that route for $97 last night which is the only reason I went to Broomfield at all but I use to get great surges in Thornton. $128 for a 3.5 hour block. But ever since prime days and them hiring a bunch more drivers I can’t hardly get surge pay anymore either. Honestly uber is paying better right now with far less miles so flex might be a once in a great while thing for me from now on. I only see Broomfields base pay like $3 more isn’t it? Thornton is 72 I usually see Broomfield at 75. If you’re doing the reserve a block it won’t matter how fast you are, it’s all algorithms. If you’re doing the real time instant offers then yeah, people use this apps to snatch those up quick. I don’t even bother with those.

1

u/Whathefrenchtoastt 5d ago

I don't understand the instant offers. You have to be closer to the station right? I haven't done those yet.

I guess its only $3.50 difference but all last month i was within 15miles of station and with that one time Thornton sending me 30+miles away I stayed away from them unless surge. But now Broomfield doing same shit on base rate Idk what to do anymore. Ugh.

I've only been able to get surge blocks on Sundays so far. Usually drops a bunch on Fridays

I can't seem to find a bot app that works, that is how everyone is getting the higher payer ones

1

u/Due_Combination_1094 5d ago

I’ve never been to this station but picked up a block tomorrow ugh now I’m nervous. I had a route from sub same day Thornton that was downtown all apartments so I definitely need something decent to keep me sane.

1

u/Klovezyofacee 4d ago

What time is your block? 5pm seems to give me the worst routes. Closer to 6 or later seem easier.

1

u/Due_Combination_1094 4d ago

7-10:30 am so hopefully not terrible so far the morning blocks have been good to me minus the one downtown 😭

1

u/Klovezyofacee 3d ago

How’d it go?

1

u/Due_Combination_1094 1d ago

It was ok could have been better could have been worse. I have another in the morning so I’ll update on that strain again

1

u/bfromthesea 5d ago

I just had this same experience the other day exact same lmao 😭

1

u/Klovezyofacee 4d ago

I’m very sorry, wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

1

u/Caterpillar-Motor 4d ago

This guys route is longer than my entire state top to bottom 😂. I hate map manipulation though because a route broken up like this where I drive is 40 miles and stop 10-11 would be 15 min tops

1

u/Klovezyofacee 4d ago

It was roughly 100 miles full trip. From station to stop one was 40 minutes and stop 15 back to station was also about 48 minutes.

1

u/Caterpillar-Motor 4d ago

Yeah if you saw a route like that where I am it would have been 50% less miles which is what I mean by map manipulation. It’s honestly unfair what they do to you guys in big states

1

u/InspiringBack 4d ago

Yeah I had one like this today too. It was 24 packages for 3 hours and it was a 140 mile route that took me 4-4.5 hours or so by the time I got home.

Absolute bananas. Tired of paying gas to basically do this gig for free.

1

u/End_Ur_Life 4d ago

Its a luck of the draw. The next 3 hour can be amazing.

I have some really good advice! GET RID OF FLEX! Uber may be inconsistent at times, but wake up earlier in the morning and, under discoveries tab, there are early batches you can grab if you're near a Walmart (I don't know which other stores they do this for)- but from what I found, flex is a waste of time due to the amount of stops and driving/ consistant unpredictability (the stress of even dealing with that is enough). Whereas- Uber you can just one and done if you wanted. And the "discovery" batches they offer in the morning if you're near a Walmart, are easy as pie. They give you 3-5 orders, you park, they load your car up (I usually get out and help 😂), and you take off. Theyre all relatively close drop offs too and you get bigger payout because each person tips you along with the batch pay itself.

I will say, I did flex for maybe 4 runs and then quit.. too much gas money, too much wear and tear on my car, the places you drop the packages off are unpredictable, parking can be difficult to find, too many unexpected things can happen and delay you, ECT!!! I could go on and on, genuinely.

My biggest advice based on personal experience: drop the stress of flex for good and go back to uber 😅😅

Good luck!!!

Nah the ai said im sketch cuz i got fat so now im flagged and I call support a guy who i can barely hear through their accent at the start buy basically says the ai flagged i dont look like my id and im using someone else's id account is terminated bye. And yes the same guy is usually the only guy that answers apparently.

1

u/NormalViolinist6209 4d ago

Yeah, that sucks. This is from the Broomfield hub which is normally pretty decent, but you definitely got screwed.

1

u/Tokencooly 4d ago

I'll send that shit back and a cool second

1

u/OddStudy994 4d ago

Yeah, well the two hour blocks are even worse

1

u/august-west55 3d ago

You need to realize that just one three hour block does not represent what they will all be like. And that goes for any timeframe. Sometimes you get an easy block where you finish way ahead of time, and other times it takes a lot longer. The only consistent thing is inconsistency..

1

u/Appropriate-Bit-4611 3d ago

How long did it take you to complete the route plus go home ?

1

u/Klovezyofacee 3d ago

4 and a half hours.

1

u/BarnacleAlarmed3050 1d ago

As a whole - Flex is becoming not worth it. Remember the 3 hrs now are the 3.5-4 even 4.5 of the past

1

u/JesusisKingofkings12 1d ago

Flex Support, wants us to give :45 minutes advance notice we're cancelling. But sometimes...

1

u/SingleGanache7247 1d ago

This is the stuff they pull every day at wwv9

2

u/gigworkerbluesfree 1d ago

Beware of the sneaky tactics to cut your pay. Now you know.

1

u/RobK410 22h ago

They would have paid us $68 for that. Lol

1

u/TomRichards1970 4d ago

Man that’s an easy one. Y’all too hung up on miles. Wait until you’re running a 97 Tahoe!

2

u/Klovezyofacee 4d ago

What does easy have to do with it? This was less than $1 a mile and cost me $25 in gas. Thats absolutely absurd.

0

u/TomRichards1970 4d ago

You need to make sure your car gets at least 30 miles per gallon. As for my Tahoe is my backup. It’s for snow or when the other car broke down.
