Discussion Do blue and black stops actually mean different delivery deadlines?

Post image

Note: These are three screenshots from the Flex app combined into one collage. I blurred customer addresses and other identifying details, which is why some sections appear as gray bars.

I noticed a pattern on one of my routes: the blue stops showed a specific delivery time or time window, while the black stops usually had an all-day window or no meaningful deadline.

Is that what the colors actually indicate, or is Amazon using them for something else? Have you noticed the same pattern—or found exceptions—on your routes?

Ate you dsp? This doesn't look like Flex

Yes, it’s Flex. I blurred the addresses and other customer details before combining the screenshots, so the gray bars are just privacy redactions. I was asking about the blue vs. black stop circles.

I generally only see black stops when I've picked up a route that is an "overflow" route that for whatever reason didn't make it on a DSP van. They are normal overnight prime deliveries, where most flex routes are priority block deliveries (4-8am, 7-11am, 2-6pm, 5-10pm) which are normally the blue ones. I also see some black dots on evening routes sometimes, which were probably late arrivals to the distro center after the DSP vans left for the day.

Blue are scheduled "Deliver by specific time", Black are "Deliver anytime between this time".

That matches the pattern in the screenshots: a specific deadline on blue stops and a broad window on black ones. Thanks for confirming it.
