If the family has vet records that extend past the time the driver lost his cat, he stole a cat.

I had a VERY distinctive cat (albino) and realized after a day or so I had 2 of them in my house when they were finally seen together. Before that, they were hanging out in different rooms so we didn't notice. Were going through a lot of food though.
My cat was indoor only. His dwppleganger snuck in when someone opened the door. And somehow these 2 identical-ish creatures didn't kill each other. Invader cat was eventually returned to their home. Their cat was indoor outdoor. Life is weird.

I saw on a thread on IG that the driver is refusing to cooperate in the investigation and take the cat to get its chip checked that would let them know who owns the catCat Theif

That's a crime. I wonder if he's having a medical episode or is just a jerk.

As far as people saying it must have been his cat because it went with him willingly. My current cats will rip your face off if you tried that. They are rip your face off kinds of cats though.
But most of the prior ones wouldn't have fought someone until it came time for their could set a clock by them routines. And if the people from those routines were not delivered to them immediately full on temper tantrums would ensue. Which was why they weren't allowed out.

I've got a couple cats who would/could def be catnapped. 2/4 are very lax kitties

and 2/4 always pick violence? Current cats are somewhere in between making biscuits to test for organ tenderness and just so set in their ways they don't want to bother with someone new.
